Hi all, just wanted to update you on Lulu's condition. She is currently at the vet clinic. They put her on a IVR of normal saline solution right away and placed her in an incubator like thing with lights inside. They said her body temp. Had dropped very low and it could have caused liver damage. She was also very dehydrated. They will wait till she is abit better and give her some meds and take a blood test check on the underlying problem of this. I will be going back in a couple of hours to check on her. Thanks @Quite for advising that I get there before the opening time. I was there 10 mins before and luckily we got 3 doctors to have a look at her as they were just getting ready for their shifts. Shall keep you all posted.

I'm glad to hear she made it to the vets. I hope she is going to be OK.

Hang in there, Lulu and Lulu's Mum.

Update : just spoken to the vet. She is still not as responsive as before and is still on the IVR. She did pee on the sheets as she is not able to get up and they cleaned her. I dont know if that is a good sign or not? :( :(

HI.

I will be honest here. It isn't a good sign that she cannot get up and that she did urinate and was unable to get out of it. You need to contact the place that did her recent grooming and find out all that happened there. What was she bathed with? Was there a dip used? How long did her grooming take? Was she placed in a cage dryer? All of these things are very important. It could be a toxic reaction to something used. It could also be an underlying heart problem and the stress pushed her over the edge. I once saw a Persian go into congestive heart failure from a bath. I hope the fluid rate isn't very high as that can also cause a problem. Good luck with her and I hope she is doing better now.

Guys im sorry to say that the vet told me her chances are very low as her liver is failing and kidneys arnt functioning well either. They had to keep her on an oxygen mask and she looked very weak and uncomfortable. I was so close to deciding to put her to sleep as i dont want her to go through anymore pain and suffering. But the vet said we should give her a chance since Lulu looked like she was fighting to survive.

I would request each and everyone to please keep her in your prayers. Please pray that my baby girl survives this and comes back home.

I am so very, very sorry. :(  I know how much it hurts.  Please try to concentrate on all the love you gave her, and how you gave her a good life. <3

I lost one after 18 yrs just a few months ago - still hurts to think of her.

God Bless and comfort you.

Well, it's what I believe.  I see no other reason for God to give us Cats - (and dogs, if you're a dog person), except as a 'gift' to show His love.  They bring us so much love, joy, comfort, peace - like special little Angels.  To me, a God who could sit down and think up a CAT - with all their wonderful qualities and beauty, and bring it to life, well that's a God who must love us.  And if He loves us that much, why wouldn't He love His Cats.

I've been all over this since I was a kid and lost my first precious Cat.  I mean, i really have a connection to, and adoration of Cats - all of them.  And i searched for peace my whole life about this subject.

I'll never have perfect peace about it - how could I ?  But, this has become my strongest bit of serenity thus far.

I hope it helps you too.

Nothing will really help except 'time', and knowing others have felt what you are feeling right now.  xo

Omg your words made me tear up so bad..thank you so so much for this. I am having such a hard time dealing with it, but what you have just said makes me feel so blessed to have a soul like hers around me through the hardest times of my life. I know only time can heal me now but I am slowly getting in peace with it. She was meant to be in my life to teach me lessons. To learn to enjoy the sunlight warmth and sleep it off when your feeling down. To walk away from things that dont "smell" right and enjoy the things that do...

i hope anyone dealing with the loss of their beloved friend finds it in them to let them be safe in their hearts with warm memories. Its hard but it will soon be possible.
