We just noticed our cat had FHV and we tried the meds on our old cat and he had a bad side effects. I was wondering if the cleaning of the affected area (her lips) will actually work because a vet told me I needed to do either. Im just worried she might have the same bad side effects and dont want to risk it. She loves bathing the other cats and I keep trying to seperate them but she seems miserable. My questions are:
Has anyone else had cats react negitively to the antibiodics?
How exactly is it spread so I can prevent the others from getting it?
Does cleaning the area regularly really make it go away until the next flare up?
Symptoms: swollen lower lip with small blisters, aggression, sneezing, and she keeps making a sickly face

How did you notice your cat has this? Have you spoken to a vet?

I highly recommend that you book an appointment with a vet and discuss your questions and concerns with him or her.  Good luck with your kitties.

The only vet in my town is really bad but hesid he would give her the meds but my last cat ended up having severe reactions and had to be put down. He said they will probably react the same to the meds so Im not going to him. But I noticed her lip was a little droopy and got worse over the next few days and then a tiny blister formed with acne at the corner of her lips but it went away on its own
