Squiggy is almost 7 months old. He is TECHNICALLY still a kitten, but he HAS been neutered. I feed him a combination of both wet and dry food. My question is -- when do I switch him to adult food? Do I still wait until he is a year, or do I do it earlier since he has already been neutered? (I know that slows their metabolism.)

This is my first indoor cat, so I appreciate all the help I've gotten from you friendly folks!

I would definitely recommend keeping him on at least 50% canned food for life. But as for when to switch from kitten food to adult food, it's not terribly important. Most people switch around 10-12 months, I think. Kitten food is higher in calories, though, so if you see him getting chubby you may want to switch him to adult formula and start measuring his food.

What foods do you feed? A lot of the foods now are for all stages.
