Lmyn has escaped. :'(

I was doing things around the house and she seems to have pried the screen door open and gotten out. As soon as i noticed the door open i checked the back yard, then came back in and checked the house and did a few walk arounds of the neighborhood. No luck, I can't find her anywhere. I am very sad and worried about her :'(

I've put food and water out there and left the shed door open so she can hide in there if she comes back when Im not home.

Oh no! Make sure you call local shelters, pounds, animal control, etc. and post ads and spread on social networking sites that your cat is missing in your area so people have a means to contact you if she's seen! If any cats get turned in that match her description, hopefully they can contact you right away instead of making her sit in a cage before anyone recognizes her.

In some cases, people will get traps placed around the home for escaped cats too, but it can depend on your cat and what other animals are around. I know of a rescuer who takes in a lot of ex-strays or ex-ferals, so they're all trap-savvy and they know they don't want to be in there again. Her heart-cat, an ex-stray escaped a month ago and was seen wandering around their property a lot, but would run away. They set traps, caught a bunch of raccoons; left their back door open while their other cats were locked away and one person would stay up all night to make sure raccoons weren't getting in; they even set up their own night vision camera and caught a few images of the cat peering in the closed back door in the middle of the night when they weren't around... I followed her blog the entire time. On day 32, he was successfully trapped, a bit skinny, but happy to be home for sure!
