Got home around 10 a.m this morning and it's great to be home. Thank you everyone for all your thoughts and prayers. They DEFINITELY did the trick. Surgeon said everything looks great. There was one pre-cancerous polyp that we removed, the mass he removed was cancerous but he got it all, no lymph nodes involved. Best of all - no chemo necessary. Of course it I had to do it I would have, but this is so much more encouraging. Our insurance will cover in-home nurse visits as long as I need it, so why not take advantage of it. Our cardiologist, Dr. Walter, came to see him twice a day all week long. The internist, Dr. Vicky, has been in touch and she's even taking Paul to lunch Monday. What a great team of drs. If Dr. Vicky hadn't insisted I get the colonoscopy I would really have been in big trouble later on.

Just a little sore, achy, but nothing I can't handle. Tippy is happy to see me, Angel only needs Paul and nobody else in the world.

Will keep you posed.

And, Pam, thank you so much for keeping TCS updated. Paul loved talking to you on the phone and said you are a wonderful person. But we all know that!!!

I am so glad you are home and everything went well.  It sounds like you have some great doctors, very unusual in this day of assembly line medicine.

Good to hear you are back home and feeling OK, and very importantly -  reassured by the news from the surgeon.

What a great update.  How wonderful to have such a good support network of doctors, family and friends.  Wishing you speedy healing.

Thank you everyone for all your encouragement and concern. I'm feelin a bit achy, but good. Dr prescribed vicadin in case I needed it but I prefer not to take anything like that unless absolutely necessary. Tylonol is doing the job, and it's just a slight ache.

Nurse was here Sun and today to change the dressing. I have 28 staples down my stomach --- think I will look a bit like Frankenstein (no bikinis for me - but I never wore them anyway). My appetite hasn't completely come back yet, but it'll take time. I know I lost weight, had lost around 12 lbs before I got sick (that was intentional) and don't know yet how much since surgery. Seeing the surgeon on July 1 when I think he'll remove the staples

Will keep you posted and thanks again.

Seeing the surgeon tomorrow (Tues) to have my 28 staples removed. Wonder how they do that? Somehow I picture a giant staple remover!!!
