I saw someone say that you fine folk enjoy cat pictures, and my little feline-loving heart could not resist.

We have two big cats, siblings from the same litter. I have no idea which one came first, but I think of Horus as older, so I'll start with her.

This is Horus! She's a girl with a boy's name because when I met her, her owner told me that she was a male cat. She was about four months old at the time I moved into the house and we hit it off right away. I knew she was mine almost immediately and named her. I eventually caught the owner or one of his young friends with one of the kittens flipped over on its back, peering very closely at its chest. I asked him what he was doing, and he told me he was counting the nipples to see if it were a male or female. So I decided to sex the kittens myself and turns out my Horus was a girl.... but too late, the name stuck. I called her "the kitten formerly known as Horus" for a couple days before giving up. Horus is more independent, and wants affection on her own terms. She adores me above my fiance; in fact, she didn't tolerate him petting her at all until I took a vacation to Florida for a week. Ever since, she appreciates him a lot better, but I'm still her first choice. I think she has a beautiful face with those white whiskers and eyebrows.

When my second cat, Panther, was a tiny kitten, he was well loved by his owner and all the guys. He was a real guy's cat. He climbed into a Cheetos bag and got dusted with orange stuff. He played hard and everyone loved him, but no one would take responsibility for him. So I did, and I've never regretted it. He is also closely bonded with me and likes nothing better than to sit or sleep on me as much as possible. He also still plays hard, and Horus doesn't always appreciate it. He's harder to take pictures of because he's almost all black, which makes me sad.

Then we now have one little cat, Finn, who's the reason I found this forum. He came to us from a private rescuer who, I dearly believe, has very good intentions but perhaps not a lot of expertise in the craft. He was emaciated when we picked him up last Saturday, weighing only 11.6 ounces. I know that he's gaining now, and he's more playful every day, but I feel like there will be a long journey yet to make him a happy, well-adjusted adult cat. I was told he was five weeks old last Saturday, but he may be slightly younger. He's certainly not well weaned. In any case, the big cats are doing well with him. There was some hissing but no violence, and Panther started to play with him yesterday (before backing off quite suddenly, looking very surprised at himself). Horus has mostly come around, too. Finn seems to really love Panther, and actively tries to play with him and cuddle him. Even though neither of the big cats are really close to him yet, he seems to have picked up on how to clean his face, something he didn't do at all when he arrived (but to be fair, not sure if this is instinctual  or learned).

I'm an absolute fool for my cats, and the kitten has only brightened our lives. Once the big cats fully adjust and Finn's at a good weight for his age, I'm going to be the happiest cat mother ever!

Thank you! I think I fixed the video. It's just a ridiculous minute of me playing with Finn using my fingers when I really shouldn't, but he's just so irresistible at this age!

Okay, I just made the video public for now. Not much identifying information in a kitten's face and a bare hand, anyway!

Squeeee! How adorable. l notice how gently he was playing with you too, and how immediately he backed off when you said no.

He's gorgeous. Horus and Panther won't be able to resist his cuteness
