Yesterday morning we found an abandoned kitten in the basement of my dad's shop, the vet said was 3 to 4 weeks old. He also weighs 12 oz. Were bottle feeding the little guy every 3 hours at 6 am, 9 am, 12pm, 3pm, 6pm, 9pm, 12am. We want to feed him every 4 hours but he already acts like he is starving every 3. When you feed him he hungrily attacks the bottle and if you need to take it away for a second, he will start to growl. We only take it away if he damages the nipple by biting it and it starts to come out the side. We were also wondering why his ears are still so floppy all the pics I saw had them with more sticking up ears. So were wondering when they will probably stick up. He can walk around but is still woble and not very fast. . Currently were keeping him in a lage dog crate with a small cat crate with a heat pad that he can go in when he wants to. We also put a litter box in with kitten safe litter. He can go to the bathroom on his own without help but we haven't been able to get him to go in the litterbox. We have 2 other male adult cats so any ideas on getting them to like him would be nice. They seem to be coming around, Shadow isn't hissing at him so much.

So here is are new little boy Simbia.

How sweet he is!   Good you are taking charge of him.   Although Im not sure mom really did abandoned him - she was perhaps just fetching something to eat, they do so, and may be absent even several hours.  And when she noticed you were near, she did hide...

Anyway, the best fate for him is to be adopted, so everyone is a winner.  The mom, whose child is taken care of by good humans, Simba who got himself a good home, and you - whom got a precious new household member...

Re the biting:  you must show it hurts.  Give a hurting sound in a thin voice!  Like his littermates would do.   If you are sure he is healthy, you can soon let your other cats be with him.  They will help and teach him cat knowledge.

Many cats are a little afraid of small kittens, they dont know for sure what they are...  That is why they do hiss...

What brand of kmr do you use?   If you can get goat milk, you can always use it.  Perhaps add an egg yolk (yellow of the egg) to it, to make it even more nourishing).

Thanks for the reply! We got a brand from Walmart but I'm not sure what it is exactly. We took him to the vet for a check up right after we found him and they said it was a good formula. I'm pretty sure he was abandoned since my dad found him the night before and left food in the box he was in for mom or the baby and it wasn't touched. Also, he was crying non stop by morning, felt a bit cold, and seemed starved when we offered the bottle. Either way he is in a good home now!! We have started offering wet cat food mixed with formula and he has stated to eat it. Yesterday night he even peed in the litter box instead of on the floor of his crate. Do you think his ears might stay floppy? The seem floppy for his age.

Maybe those little teeth were why mom split
Just adopted out 2 of my 5 yesterday at near 7 weeks. None of them

ever bit me so far but noticed mom's tale has sure been victimized by most of them, but a moving target like that I suppose

is irresistible fair game to them.

Sorry to be blunt, but this is really a shade too early.  Next time, please make it at least 8 weeks...

Good luck!

Kittens from homeless moms often seems smaller than their age.  Prob because they tend to be undernourished.

Re the ears, its not easy to say as yet.  You perhaps got yourself a natural fold.    Other people must pay hundreds of dollars to get a Scottish Fold (or American Curl) while you got one "for free" - just to invest your heart and put in some love and work.   :)
