I went to Petsmart picked up a full case of canned food and right across the back in big letters

Product of Thailand.

Very upsetting when most people want the safety of a made in the USA brand.

I bought Natures Recipe instead which is made in my hometown San Francisco, California.

Looks like I will now be throwing out my Simply Nourish dry food as well.

If companies would be honest about there products up front not after something happens.

Not sure I understand the concern. Tiki Cat is a Thai brand of pretty good cat food, and that they list the food or ingredients are sourced from Thailand is being honest. I don't see any recalls for Simply Nourish either. Unless you can provide a source (like a recall list) to verify that this food, or all Thai meat or Thai exports are out to poison our pets, I think this might be overreacting.

I think people are getting carried away with the safety of where ingredients are sourced. You can source bad ingredients from anywhere in the world, including your own hometown, whether there are foreign materials in the food or poor quality meats.

Why would you throw it out? If you're not comfortable with feeding it, return it. If you can't return it, don't waste it - donate it to a shelter or a rescue.

To my knowledge there is no particular concern with pet foods made in Thailand, unlike China. There are quality brands that are made in Thailand.

Also keep in mind that just because a product is made in the US does not mean that ALL ingredients are sourced in the US unless it is clearly specified as such on the label.

Its very confusing the dry food says distributed in phoneix, arizona. So the dry is local and the canned is foreign ? Thanks for the reassurance I didn't know Thailand was a common manufacture.

The down fall simply nourish does not carry a low calorie version of dryfood and my cats don't really like it.

Since they like the canned food only I guess they have a taste for Thai food LOL! ME TOO.

I saw in another thread you posted in that someone called customer service for Simply Nourish and did say the dry was manufactured in the USA. You always have the option of calling/emailing and asking the company themselves for more information or a low-calorie substitute they may have. They're usually more than happy to provide more information to customers, especially if it builds loyalty and promotes repeat purchasing.
