Maybe forget that unit. Something stinks. I know you like it but something is wrong. Find another unit. You'll probably find something better nicer and a good price. My fingers are crossed so hurry up they're starting to hurt!

Still waiting for the response!

Apparently the elderly owner of the home is in a nursing home, and the daughter has full atty. Waiting for them to get back to us.

I'm going to look at another one tomorrow. going to continue to look until everything is signed.
I thought she'd died?

Thank you all! Hoping few more days at most!

I thought she died too, considering the Christmas presents were out- but in a nursing home.

Me too, thank you!

I went to Ikea and to Lowes yesterday. I know it's too early to look at ideas, but it was so much fun!

they accepted the offer!

Engineer is coming in this Weds to look around. Hopefully all goes well and we'll be in contract by the end of the week

The leak is/was a building issue, so the coop is going to get a contractor and look into it and fix as needed. That's good news.

Excellent!!!

Hopefully the engineering inspection will go smoothly.   When can you move in if it does?

The engineer said we don't even need them for a coop this small, but we insisted any way since we had a few concerns. He's charging us half price because of this.

Once the Engineer says everything is OK (or provide us with a list of things that needs to be updated / fixed), we'll go into contract. Once the contract is signed, I'll have to meet the board of the Co-Op for an approval.. this should hopefully go quickly as we're paying in cash. They want to find out my living history and make sure I'm financially stable. They'll probably run a background check too which is fine. Sometimes that takes 2-3 months.

I am hoping to get in by Aug 1st or sooner, so I'll have a month to clean up and do the things I want to do before moving in Aug 31st (When my lease is up)

The things I'm planning on doing before moving in are:
- New stove (maybe fridge)
- Redo the floors in both living and bedroom (rip up bedroom carpet and sand/stain the hardwood floors)
- Remodel the bathroom as everything is old, new vanity/tub/medicine chest.. maybe put tiles on walls/floors.
- Put fresh new molding around windows and floors
- Get new blinds/shades for all windows and sliding back door
- New light fixture in kitchen
- Paint the walls
- New living room closet door as its ugly

and I'll have to look again to see if anything else needs to be done.

It'd be great if I can get all above done before my stuff moves in. I am really glad they accepted my lowball offer, so I have some extra cash to work with!
