Hello
I have a female cat I named Squeaky. She is a feral cat. She adopted me about a year and a half ago. She has had two litters. I recently had her spayed. (Long story) Spring is now upon us. She is showing some unusual behavior. She is carrying a sock around in her mouth and "crying." The sock drags along the floor. She is now an indoor pet. Anyone have insights? Is she just wishing to have more kittens. It is a touching sight.
Thanks
Val

I have a male cat that carries a toy mouse in his mouth and cries. It too cute. I think he's just showing me what he hunted. Your girl could be doing the same thing or just being maternal. You did the right thing getting her spayed and keeping her indoors. We have too many kittens and we don't need anymore pregnant felines. Maybe get her a stuffed toy that she can nurture.

Thanks for responding, Jodie. I will give the toy kitten a try. Can't be worse than her dragging around the sock :) I also have her offspring. One from the first litter and four from the second litter. The kittens are going on six months. The three males are lined up for neutering. The female from the second litter I already had done. Good thing I only semi retired!
Have a good day. :)

You will be truly blessed for taking so much on, and I thank you too! My Chrissy used to walk around carrying a drinking straw (?) and making a sound that she had never made before, I always thought she was 'calling' kittens to eat even though she never had any! It took me a long time to recognize it, it was so different from her normal meows it sure brought ME running!

Thank you Di and Bob. I appreciate your sharing. This is a new behavior so I said to myself "Uh Oh". I do all I can do to make them happy. Did I miss something. :)
Enjoy your day!
