Dr. just told me Chalupa's lymphoma is very aggressive and prognosis is not more than 57 days. My cat, Chalupa, is 11. She just had a surgery done 5 months ago to fix a rupture in the intestines, her test results then came back as negative for cancer then. But, I noticed she never really got her appetite back all the way after being very sick and she seemed a little depressed, lacking in energy, just vomited a few times over the 5 months, once was a hairball, bowel movements changed a little, no diarrhea, just slightly more twisted up darker poop. I brought her because she was getting worse last week and she vomited so I brought her to dr, ultrasound showed mass in intestines, sent for tests, came back as lymphoma.

She sleeps mostly, enjoyed the one day of nice weather we had so far outside. She still eats-but not much, watches cat entertainment videos a lot, she seems to be slowly fading away, her coat is still soft and she still acts acts like she's my baby. She won't play anymore though.

My question is, what should I do for her? should I ask the vet to put an end to this now before she starts feeling worse? Should I put her through chemo first? ho expensive is chemo? Is she going to go anyway? What should I do to help her? I worry about her all the time. Please help

At her age if it was me I would not put her through Chemo..I also lost a 12 year old to this same thing... If shes eating alert and moving around..All you can do is see how she goes each day..you will know when its time..And when it is then out of love you will be able to dig deepn into your heart and let her go..Hugsss I have been in your shoes a few times and its never easy

Thank you for your thoughts, I'm sorry you've been through this twice, it's really awful, I really appreciate what you said and it makes sense to me. No matter how I look at it I can't imagine life without her.

Of course it is your decision.  I have known people who tried chemo and people who didn't.  I probably wouldn't try I would just make her comfortable for as long as I could then let her go.  That is just my own personal decision, there is no right or wrong decision, it's what you choose to do.

I am very sorry that you and your kitty are going through this.

Thank you for your reply, can't really see the point to chemo either, I'm trying to make her comfortable, she sometimes seems so peaceful and relaxed, like nothings wrong. This is going to be so hard. thanks again, wish you the best
