I've had 2 cats who kept doing this too, I would clean it, they would promptly do it again.

Something about planting their scent.....(??)

Is it normal right before labor starts for her back to twitch several times each time when I pet her? She doesn't act like it hurts and doesn't try to move... It is just a new development during the wait!:lol3:

Ok so we have KITTENS! Went to work at 8 this morning and nothing... my daughter came home at 3 and there were two babies in the box with her. They seem to be doing fine. I have seen them both eat. My question is how do you know if she is done? Her belly still seems big to me? Does it go down right away. I don't notice any panting or contractions... but her belly is still round. The kittens were all cleaned up and looking good... and the blood doesn't seem fresh on the blankets, so I think it happened before noon. How long usually in between kittens can there be?

There is still a bump in there.... I can see it an feel it when she is on her side. But she is doing NOTHING but sleeping and the kittens are nursing away.

She is sleeping and resting great.. but I can see the same wave motion every once in a while as she lays there. Do you think there is more? These 2 kittens are 10-12 hours old now.

I mean the same wave motion and fluttering that I could see before she had these 2 kittens for the last 2 weeks.

My cat Lilly just had a stillborn 24 hours after she delivered 2 healthy kittens. She is cleaning everything up good... how long to I leave the dead kitten in there with her???

That's so sad... But I agree with LolaSky. In the wild the momma would eat the still born. I have been reading so much on cats and kittens in the last few days. But you can distract the mom with some food and I would remove the kitten ASAP. Also fill her belly if she will let you, if it is still pretty hard I would take her to a vet. Just to make sure that there are not anymore inside. Good luck [emoji]128546[/emoji]

I let her clean it and then she just left it there to the side and continued to feed the other 2. I took it away and was gone maybe 8 minutes and when I got back she was cleaning up a new kitten! So we have 3 pretty babies. I think she is done now. :)

Wow can you post pics? So happy the rest are doing good. We just had kittens to, and momma was an out side cat. She had them in a not so safe place. So we brought her in and they all are doing good. I worry because I don't reay know allot of what to expect.

Here they are! Everyone is doing great! The one on the left was the one born 24 hours later.
