I like that "your friend's dog" , is less effort than your "own"  dog.   ...LOL.''

But what is up  with "Babies".....being effort.....but NO FUN.??....lol......That is just wrong!
..lol.

(horses are more fun...lol)

This is Hilarious!

Poor sea monkeys!
I don't think the person that wrote this liked cats much either!

Laughed so much when I saw this I couldn't breathe but would like to let everyone know I have now recovered and not to worry if I don't post for a while - but it is now nearly 2-30 am here....

Babies shouldn't count; they aren't pets!  But yeah on the effort!
And I have fun with them!
I do find I scold both my kids and my cats in exactly the same way/words though.

I agree with you @MoochNNoodles  ....babies should not count.
  as  pets.

But since you did say that you "scold both (your) kids and cats in exactly the same way/words"....LOL

ahhh.....do you think that maybe that would cause some confusion?  lol

Do you accidentally tell your beautiful kids to go use the litterbox and tell the cats to potty?

And how about when they are eating, and you want them to eat more?  especially vegetables.?

I am not sure if cats can put away their own toys?

I am thinking that you may be working too hard....lol....I am going away now, for the rest of the day.  lol

No, babies are not pets but they do give a lovely comparison in the effort stakes.

@cat nap, does this mean Mouse isn't the only cat to look at their human like they're crazy when told to put away the boxes / mice etc before going to bed?
Maybe he's better behaved than I thought.  I'm sure he could do it if he really wanted to because he sees me putting his toy mice etc in their 'bed' and he knows where I put the boxes too: mind you he went and jumped in one I'd tidied up the other day and that one attacked him (fell off where  I'd put it and turned upside down with Mouse underneath).

After 30 years my mom still can't get our names right. When she calls one of us, it's not uncommon for her to cycle through all our names until she gets it right before she proceeds to say what she wants to say.

In your case, @Fhi09   your mom is still okay, because she did NOT use a cat name to call you...lol

Unlike, poor @Andrya  son, who really doesn't know if he should answer his mom or not....LOL

You both, just reminded me, that my aunt, would call us by our dog's name.....no where close sounding to a girl's name.....LOL
  It was Brutus or Dusty...idk.

I will not answer the first quetion, @MServant....because its a "trap"...LOL

The second part, I will leave you @MServant   and also @MoochNNoodles    to work upon, because you obviously both talk to your cats in similar fashions.  I am not sure whose cat would win in the "putting the toys away category".....but my money would still be on MoochNNoodles'  kids,   as long as she does not confuse them further.

If boxes are attacking poor Mouse in his own house, I would say.....alot more is happening there....and I cannot comment....

  lol.

Maybe, Mouse was trying to move the box, to a better location, since he saw you do it.

ps.  I just noticed you said toy mice are put in their own "bed"....WHAT??  why do toy mice, all of a sudden need beds?   what is going on over there?  lol

Hmmm, Mouse trying to move a box to a better location - that would be the one on the floor I'd just moved it from!

The toy mice bed - is a beautiful faux sheepskin kitty bed I bought for Mouse just before I adopted him and it looks lovely and comfy and cozy.  He of course put one paw in there, decided he preferred cardboard boxes and never went near it again unless it was to take a toy out after I'd tidied up....  I wish I'd never played fetch with him now.

Well, I cannot change my name now to Dusty Brutus.....so cat nap I shall be.  lol

I missed your last sentence, before. @MServant.   Playing "fetch"  with your cat Mouse, is awesome., unless he makes you do the fetching.  My RainBow cat Sparky, would just fling ping pong balls around and get me or my sister to shoot them back to him.  It was more of a workout for me......so yes .....cats equal more EFFORT than dogs, in playing, but not in grooming or having to constantly watch them.

So would you say that playing Fetch.....is more FUN....or more...EFFORT? with your cat Mouse?

Its a trick question, so be careful?

  lol.

I know of kimodo dragons, dragon fly, dragon beetle......just never looked up in the sky for one?

So much science behind this chart!
lol....Yes, it seems like great "science".   So @NYCats....what is your take then?  ARE  cats, dogs, horses, dragons.....more fun than goldfish and turtles?
   In your opinion, I mean.?

Mostly I just refer to the kid's pediatrician as "the vet."  That's been the hardest habit to break.

Hmm.... let's see....  I guess it's just the usual "If you don't cut it out!"  "No it's NOT time to eat" "stop that!" "get down!" type of scolding.  I'll check in the next time I catch myself; I know there are better ones than that.  None of them are very good at picking up toys.
The kids are easier to motivate; I'll give them that.  I'm pretty sure they all get underfoot at some point during the day.  Usually while begging for food.  As if they don't get fed enough.  All beg for treats.
DD is a good eater and DS is getting better all the time.  DD can chow down on some veggies and insists on having salads with DH and I almost every night.  I may have told DD to go to the litter box before.  DS isn't potty trained yet; he's a tad young for it.  I cannot wait to be a diaper free house!!  I may throw a party for MYSELF!!

I do think the fun factor increases with size. Interacting with something more substantial in size is definitely more satisfying. You can even ride on horses and dragons.

Trick question???   You know I can't resist questions @cat nap, so that is not fair.

When he was a youngster he was all enthusiastic about toys so I could make virtually no effort for lots of fun by throwing toys, and Mouse would make lots of effort and have lots of fun leaping and running off after the toys and bringing them back to me - dropping them on the floor or bed covers for me to throw them again.....  I used to use it to tire him out at bed time. I could curl up, chuck the toys he liked in to the hall from my cozy position, and he'd leap off the bed, tank off after them then bring them back and drop on the cover for me to throw again.   Very good game until he got wise to how hard he was working bringing them all back.  I took more toys to bed so I could throw him one after another after that.
