It's been quite a while since I was last here, and a lot has changed, so I figured I'd start over from here.
When I joined, I had three cats, Lance, Lorenzo, & Arianna. Lorenzo succumbed to old age/kidneys/cancer at the age of 16, as mentioned in the post linked above. Lance was next to go. His kidneys went out at the age of 20. The last to go was Arianna. She was also 20, and we had her euthanized this past February 10. Many tears were shed over the loss of all three.
This past Saturday, we decided we were ready for new cats!
We went to Operation Kindness, the local No-Kill shelter. After checking out all of the kitties, we chose two.
Jackson by monogodo, on Flickr
Jackson was brought to Operation Kindness as a stray on February 23, 2014, with an estimated age of 1.5 years. He's a partial tabby (white with brown tabby spots), 10.19 lbs with a short coat. He's a very tall cat, and very loving. He has taken to following me around the house.
Léonie by monogodo, on Flickr
Léonie was originally transferred to Operation Kindness from a different shelter in May 2013 with her siblings. She has lived almost her whole life in a shelter, but she's got an amazingly sweet and calm disposition. Her birthdate is approximately 4/22/2013, so she's not quite a year old. She is extremely timid, but loves being petted. We think it's a product of living in a shelter cage for so long.
