The smaller "bump" is prob her kittens are wandering down into the birthing position, so the delivery is nearing.

Her eating less is beginning to bother me!

Try to get something into her!   Even if it is not nourishing optimally... Try with her favorites, and or something extra smelly...   Can you get goat milk?   Forumists living in USA use often children food, Gerber stage 1, chicken or turkey...

Re the smelling urine.  I wonder if it may be more concentrated than usual? Does she drinks water as she usually does?  She must..

Have perhaps a little tuna juice in her water.  Or a little cream with her water, it makes the water tastier...

Hi, thanks for reply, I actually did what you suggested before I checked on here and saw what you wrote, thanks for the tip the milk and water worked a treat.

I also swapped the kitten food, which she has eating happily for 2 weeks, with adult cat food and she ate it all up. I figured it's better for her to have some nutrients than nothing at all. I'll try her again with the kitten food soon and keep you informed.

Thanks again for all your help, I really appreciate it :-)

Also, her round belly seems to have made a reappearance. It must have just been lack of food which gave her her flatter appearance, I don't think she's having many kittens so I guess that means they have more room to hide if she's not eaten for 18 hours.

I havent seen these me either.  Its food, pure food, say, chicken made into mush.  Fairly pure.

Our baby foods in Sweden are essentially adult food, with meat, potatos, groceries and sauce all mushed up together...   I would love to have this Gerber here in Sweden.

Im glad she had began to eat again, tx to your efforts.

Thanks for the reply, Tigger has been to see the vet today and he said she seems to be in good health. He also said that he thinks she's only between 7 or 8 weeks and to not expect the babies for another 10 days or so.

He had a feel of her tummy and said she appears to be having a small litter, but he couldn't be too sure. 3 or 4 maybe, these next ten days are going to be a killer because by my calculations she was due on Monday (or around then).

I'll keep you posted on any further developments! Thanks again, your advice has been really helpful.

For my cat, she actually began lactating about 16 hours before giving birth. Basically, the same day she would give birth. For me it was the next day she gave birth. So! Here are the symptoms of labor I found in my cat. These may be different in your cat:

-- Eating small portions (showing loss of appetite)

-- Jumping from and to different nesting areas for a while

-- Lactating hours before birth

-- No panting for my cat

-- Rapid breathing

-- Meow (my cat is a quiet one so any meowing was alarming for me)

-- If she likes the outdoors, she will refuse to go outside

-- No discharge for my cat

-- Belly tightens for a while (mild contractions, not very visible; felt)

-- wanting attention or your company for a while

-- Wanting to be alone (for me it was about 5-6 hours before she gave birth)

-- Feeling bumps at the bottom when stomach tightens

If she does not give birth after 24 or so hours after labour starts, please take her to the vet ASAP.

~~~~~ Best of Wishes ~~~~~~
Thanks I will most certainly be looking for any of these signs. I can tell she is already eating small portions but the same amount of food daily, if you get what I mean lol. She still has until next week, as far as I'm aware, so watch this space! :-)
Tigger went into labour yesterday night, She had a baby boy at 5.19pm my time (UK) but her contractions have now stopped, I've spoken to a vet and I'm not to worried but if there's no change by morning I'm going to take her in
Thought you said her name was Gorda? Lol she's a little beauty and very clearly such a good mother to all her babies.
Im still nervous because her contractions stopped but I'm sure she will be fine, sad about the first born though. I think because he died is why I'm worrying so much :-(
Tiggers got an appointment at the vets, I've had a feel of her tummy and I can still feel at least one moving. So I'm holding out hope for the little guy/girl. She did have a second kitten around 4am but it was stillborn like her first, and very undeveloped! I didn't want my baby to have kittens, i was always under the impression she had been spayed so her pregnancy was a complete shock to me. Tiggers fine for now, she's sleeping in her box and getting some well deserved rest. She had a very traumatic experience and I'm afraid worse is still to come. I would like to thank everybody on this forum for all of the advice I have received and it has been a great pleasure getting to know some of you and sharing Tiggers story with you and getting to here all of yours too. Please pray for my girl and her unborn babies, it would really mean a lot to us right now :-( Thank you all again and I will let you know what happens at the vets, Tiggs x
Tiggers having a cesarean section to deliver the rest of the kittens, i could still feel at least one moving but whether it will survive birth we just don't know! She's going to stay in overnight and the vet is going to call me and let me know how she is if they managed to save any. I'm so scared for her, I feel completely responsible for putting my baby through this, she just doesn't deserve it. Thanks for your concern I'll keep you updated on her progress!
