Hello everyone. I need a little advice on one of my kittens.

First off, I am making an appointment this week for them to get neutered so he can get checked up whilethere. They are on a raw diet also and about 5months old.

My smaller kitten Sunny, has been shaking the last few days. He shakes his legs when he stands and today while he was laying with me, he was shaking his head. He shakes like a siezer type of way but he's not unconscious. He also is not shaking as if something were in his ears. I do t know if maybe this is a normal behavior or if he's missing vitamins of some kind. Does anyone have any ideas of what is wrong or what I should do? Thank you.

Wow ! I would get your little boy checked out by a vet ASAP. This is not right at all and fits of any kind needs checking out and if his legs are shaking when he is standing - well I would be already at the vets by now !!! Please at least ring the vets and explain to them over the phone. I'm sure they will tell you to bring him in ASAP
I really don't like the sound of this. Good luck and I hope your little boy is ok :rbheart:

Get him to the vet tomorrow. It could be a serious condition. Only a vet is allowed to diagnose your kitten's problem.

I called the er vet and they said to keep an eye on him and schedule an appointment for this week with my regular vet. If he has another episode I'll take him in tonight. Thank you all, I'll keep you posted on his health.

This sounds like a neurological issue, tremors as they are called stem from many things, including metabolic problems.

Tremors can appear in just one area (localized) or take over kitty’s entire body (generalized).

Low blood glucose, diabetes and low blood calcium are just a few of the reasons that tremors could occur.

Sometimes, kittens who are malnourished or have nutritional deficiencies, such as thiamine deficiency, can display tremor episodes. If diet is to blame for these tremors, your vet may suggest a strict diet for kitty, as well as supplements to fill in the gaps.

Be sure to check whether there is any possibility the kitten has had exposure to any household toxins.

Talk about his food/diet,  the vet will take a blood sample and run some tests, ruling out diseases and will narrow it down a great deal once the blood panel is run.

Good luck!

The vet says he has too much salt in his diet and his shaking is tremors. We are doing a new food and in a few weeks we will see how he's doing.

Glad to hear you got in at the vets. That's good news that it's nothing too serious, & "fixable."  I'm sure lots of water will help flush him out as well.  What food was he eating that caused that?

How did he determine this? Did he do a blood test?

What is he eating?

Yes they did a blood test. They were eating a raw diet and I have no clue how he ingested so much salt. The vet put him on a kibble diet to see if that will fix his salt levels.

That's strange. Most kibble has added salt in it. It seems to be counterproductive to me.

I would get some regular canned kitten food for them.  If you want to stay close to raw, get something grain-free and meat only such as Innova EVO. They make a great cat & kitten food.  Wellness also has a gf kitten food, but it produces very stinky poops, so be warned if you feed that to them!

Thank you very much. I really hated the idea of putting them on kibble. Royal canin kitten is what the vet wants them on.

I like RC kitten kibble and food, but I don't know about salt content.  I give my little guy who can't tolerate a totally grain-free diet the RC Gastro HE prescription dry food mixed with some grain-free dry, but he gets his most of his nutrition from canned grain-free.  I think RC is better than Science Diet by a long shot.
