I'm talking about a brick and mortar bank and deal with a bank teller, not an ATM.

I received a check in the mail and yesterday I had to go to the actual bank to see a teller and deposit it. It was for a fair amount, so I couldn't use the ATM. I realized that I rarely go the bank. I pay the bulk of my bills online or through the mail by check. We have most checks direct deposited into our account. I really only go there when I need to deposit a check. :dk: My next visit will probably be when I get my tax checks in as we forgot to tell our tax preparer to have them direct deposited.

How often do you go to a bank?

I never go for personal transactions--like you, I have direct deposit, bill pay, etc.  But at work, we get paid for jobs mostly by check, so I go to the bank once or twice a week to deposit those.

It's probably been two or three years since I was last at ours, maybe longer. DH sometimes goes to make a cash withdrawal because he can never remember his PIN to withdraw from an ATM.

I will go several years without physically going to a bank.  Every once in a while I will get the odd check and I go to the bank to cash it rather than use an ATM.  The only check that I wright now is for rent.  I have lived here almost nine years and my checks still have my old address on them.  Some complexes have started online bill pay for rent, if they do that here I will probably never wright checks anymore.

I go to the bank maybe once every couple months. My husband goes every week because he gets paid with a cheque every week. His work is right beside our bank, so it's easy for him to go.

I rarely go to a bank,  I have direct deposit on my checks.  If I need cash, I will either get it using my debit card since it always gives you the option of getting cash bank at all stores.  The other way is just going to an ATM but I have not actually been in a bank for years.

Rarely.  I tend to do banking online, or through the bank machine.  Not sure about other places, but most banks including the one I use, close around 4 or 4:30 pm during the week and aren't open on the weekend.  A branch of my bank located in a mall is open on Saturday, so that is the one I go to if I need to.  The last time I went to a bank was about a year ago when I was exchanging Canadian money for US dollars.

Very rarely, only when I have a large amount to deposit. All my stuffs I do online, and I use cash back option at the grocery if I need some cash on hand. The last time I was there was when I moved and needed to update my address.

I go every couple weeks or so to get cash (don't use ATMs), or once in awhile if I have a check to deposit.

At least once  a week, for deposits but more importantly to get cash from my bank, without those ridiculous ATM fees!

Once a week. Rick and I both still get paychecks (although we're going to start putting my check into our savings account through direct deposit once I get a debit card).

We just went into the bank a couple weeks ago to get some paperwork signed for CDs and savings. I've never had a debit card....and never wanted one. But in order to go through direct deposit, I need a card. I hate the thought of having to pay those (as Cheylink says) "ridiculous ATM fees!" I think the whole thing is going to be one huge mess and I really hate the thought of even getting involved with it. But well......

I have never had to pay for any ATM fees.  I guess all areas or banks are different.  I think you will like having a debit card, it's great when you don't have cash, you can just use your debit card anywhere as long as you have cash in the bank, that is
I use my debit card every time I go shopping whether for food or clothing.  It's a lot easier for me.  I really think you'll like it Pam.

Maybe twice a year to get a printout of a withdrawal I need to have documented. I have direct deposit, and when I need money, I go to the ATM (owned by my bank so NO atm fees) I have a debit card, and use it for some things and my car insurance is automatic payment.

Hardly ever. It's nearly all done with standing orders to the bank so my bills are paid. My pension goes straight into my account. My visa payments come straight out of my account. I don't pay any bank fees as I'm a retired bank worker.

Last October we had to go because we needed something notarized and my credit union offers it to members.  Before that I think it was sometime in 2009 that I was in that branch.  If I get a check I send it US Mail because the closest branch is 45 minutes away from where I live.  If I need cash I found a drive up ATM in my city that has no fee.

not much.. if I get a check, I'd go to the bank which is every other month or three months. I get direct deposit, and if I need cash, I usually pull it out at checkout grocery shopping.
