It my guess too.  If she has say 3, they will be unevenly divided, wouldnt they?

Btw,  cats has several nipples.  so one missing shouldnt be a problem, unless she has a very large litter, or she having also other problems with her teats.

Good luck!

Normally you will not feel kittens moving until 6-7 weeks into pregnancy. I would give it AT LEAST 15 more days before worrying about this unless you are absolutely certain of the day she got pregnant and even then, most likely things are /will be fine.  Sometimes you just won't feel them till later on-with one pregnant mom that I fostered I din't feel the kittens moving until I saw them moving around a week before the birth, and everything was fine. It depends on a lot of things including how many kittens, how big they are, even just if they happen to be moving at a time when you are feeling (they will move often late in pregnancy, but even then not constantly).

I know to you it probably feels like the pregnancy has gone on forever but really in a way 38 days is still early days.

Good luck with the rest of her pregnancy!

Honestly, I am not sure if the average litter size is different for pedigree cats / certain breeds or not since I have NO experience with breeding, but I've fostered really A LOT of litters and would say the average size tends to be 4-5.  However, I've had as few as 1 or as many as 8 in a litter... it really varies. What breed is she?

Regarding weight gain, yes, she should have gained some weight by now.  You should be feeding her CONSIDERABLY more than usual, and you should be feeding her kitten food, not cat food.  I am not really sure what the 'average' weight a cat gains during pregnancy is unfortunately- generally I pay not much attention unless something seems wrong, and in all honesty I have a lot more experience with new litters than with cats when they are first pregnant.  I am sure someone who knows a bit more will come by soon, but I will say as long as she IS gaining and eating a healthy amount of kitten food, there is probably no need for alarm!

6 weeks is usually the EARLIEST you can expect to feel movement.  Give her AT LEAST one more week before worrying.  It can vary a great deal depending on the cat, the size of the litter, and how active they happen to be though.  You might still not feel them moving at 7 weeks or beyond, and that is NOT necessarily an indication that anything is wrong.

She looks fine to me from the pic.

As of a few days ago, my Tabby Stray Baby'Mama... whom adopted us.
I'd rub her belly, finally felt what I'd say were flutters Or bubbles.... Now a few days later there are definite kitty kicks! It's an agonizing wait, but with in days I started to feel them more prominently! I'm nervous as this is my first stray & first litter.... But my Baby Has Done great being an outdoor cat, now kept indoors due to, her birth being soon I assume.
Good luck sweetie!!!
