A healthy kitten can be spayed neutered as young as 8 weeks as long as they weigh at least 2 pound :D

It depends on the vet. The vet I use is 3 months and at least 3 pounds. With females if they are done to early you run the risk of leaving ovarian tissue behind. This can cause problems later.

Yes I just called my vet and he wont do it until after 3 months and he has to weight more than 3 pounds. I want to take all the kittens before they go to their forever homes.

Thank you ladies.

I don't agree with kitten getting spayed as young as 8 weeks old (only referring to females here, as that's what i have experience with)

that's what happened to my Jet, and she's been a sick kitty. I feel it really affects their developing immune system. She got sick at the shelter shortly after getting spayed. Its better to wait till at least 3-4 months.

When i adopted her i thought she was 3 months old based on what i was told by the people at the shelter. i found out a week after adopting her, she was not 3 months old, and was very sick :(

I personally am old school and would rather wait until 6 months but with all the cats I needed to get done over the past year I had some fixed at 3 months because I had the money.
