Hi everyone! I finally joined after loads of google searches about our cats' health and behavior lead me to the forums here multiple times. I just realized now why I haven't signed up! I'm glad to be finally a member here. :D

Anyway, my name is Kim. Together with my boyfriend, we are the doting parents of 3 (used to be only 2, before we picked up a distressed ginger kitten by the side of the road) furrballs. They're all "puspins" or "Pusang Pinoy" which translates to "Philippine Cats" because all of them are strays that we picked up and adopted. They all live in my boyfriend's house (with his mom, dad, and big brother) because I only rent a room, but I visit as much as I can. :)

Our kids:

Java: He's the oldest. He came into our lives when my boyfriend saw him sitting by their front gate. He was 5 or so weeks old by the time, very thin and with a wound on his right eye. He is turning 2 in March. :) He is very gentle and sweet. He loves cuddling at night and loves kneading our tummies. We try to endure his painful claws just to make him happy. :D

Rashi: One day as I was about to go to work, I heard a strong meow somewhere, but since I was in a hurry, I did not have the chance to check it. When I came back home, the meowing is still there! So when my boyfriend visited me in my rented house (where I rent a room), we looked for the sound and found Rashi! We talked to him and I convinced my boyfriend to take him in. When Rashi was a kitten, he is very sweet and cuddly and playful to the gentle Java. But as he grew up, he kinda grew more independent and loves staying outside so much. He is aloof and quite. He recently went missing for a month! But he eventually found his way home.

Puny: The newest member of our family. You know why we called him Puny. :3 We heard a hoarse meow by the side of the road when I and my boyfriend went downtown to buy some stuff. He was very scared and jumped every time a vehicle passes by. Once again, I convinced my boyfriend to take him with us. He cradled him, as we rode on a very noisy vehicle back to his house. It has been almost a week and he seemed to have settled in. He is also very sweet and playful like a normal kitten. He seemed really smart. :)

I also want to share that it is not easy to take care of cats here in the Philippines. Since our country is a third world country, pets are commonly kept only if they are useful. That is why the common pets are dogs because they serve as guardians. Owning a cat, taking care of them like they're your own children, is very uncommon for the common people. Especially for us since we are not financially stable and are among the lower class. But that didn't stop us from taking care of our kids because we love them. :D

Whew, I'm very sorrry for the very long post! :O And hi again everyone! )
