Who's watching the game? And more importantly, what will you be munching on during the game?

I don't care football at all, but dear Richard lives for football season. So while he's glued to the tv on Sunday night, I'll be back in bed with a book; I still haven't read Dr. Sleep, so I may read that. Last year we went to my sister's to watch the game, but Rick suggested that we stay home this year.

Rick wants chili for dinner on Sunday night and he's even offered to make it, so that works for me. I also have some wings, just got them out of the freezer to thaw a bit, and, if the weather holds, we may grill them outside. I'm making guacamole for the first time ever, so wish me luck....it's just been within the past year that I've started to eat avocado anything and I've finally decided that I like it. I'm making pita chips for our guac, too. I'll stick a couple bottles of Smirnoff Ice in the freezer for me for about an hour or so; that way, it's nice and slushy, but not completely frozen.

And I'm making cookies this afternoon, probably snickerdoodles, but I'm not sure yet. Quite the dinner combination, but we'll enjoy anyway.

I think I really will watch the Kitten Bowl--I had told people kind of jokingly that I would, but I may actually check it out.  But that's about it for me.  Oh, and I want to see the ad for Goldie Blox--it's a new company that makes books and toys for girls to get them excited about science and engineering.  They won a contest put on by Intuit Corp so they get a 30 second fee ad during the game. http://money.cnn.com/2014/01/30/smallbusiness/super-bowl-ad-intuit-goldieblox/index.html

I've bought Goldie Blox toys for my niece and think it's a great concept.  So anyway....that's my interest in the Super Bowl, cats and toys.

Hubby's not really a football fan but usually watches the big games so he may turn it on.  But nothing special planned food-wise or anything.

Good luck with the guac!  We have a friend who's an EXPERT at it--any time we have a get-together we ask her to bring the guacamole.  Just the right touch of jalapeños in it--not too spicy but with a nice kick.

You got me sidetracked Betsygee. I had to go check out the Kitten Bowl website. Starts at noon here, so won't work for me :(  But they have some cute video on the website.

Sam will be watching the game, that's for sure. Your menu sounds yummy, Winchester. We're on perpetual diets around here, so no special snacks, just the usual 20 pretzel snaps.

I am spending the day and night at Russel's house, he has invited a few of our friends to watch the game.  I am not into football but I enjoy the championship games at the end of the season and watch on and off just to check the scores.

If I were at home alone I probably would just go back and forth and do the same.  Since I will be with others I will be watching the whole game or at least be there yakking to the other girls.

Russ has ordered loads of stuff to eat and his sister is making some homemade stuff too including her wonderful stuffed mushrooms.  It should be a nice evening.

I might watch it since I have family in Seattle who are pretty excited about the game, but It's sad here that they take out all the cool SuperBowl commercials, and run local ads instead.

I love NFL! We are huge Seahawk fans, ever since their beginning. We've been to a game in Seattle a few years ago. We took the train and went with my best friend and a co-worker. It was a lot of fun, hope to get to another...maybe next season. So we are SUPER excited about the game tomorrow. We are going to stay home and watch it on our awesome tv and not bother with other peoples stuff. I hate when you are really trying to watch the game and other people want to just party and be loud and crazy. I wore a Russell Wilson jersey to work and new Seahawk hoodie today. So any way, I'm getting ready to put together potato salad. I have wings thawing and will bake those tonight. Hubby is making ham, cream cheese and pickle roll ups right now. I'll probably make some guacamole. Want to get it all done tonight because I want to watch every bit of the game, including pre-game coverage. Go Seahawks!!!!!!

Rick is a die-hard loyal Eagles fan and I feel so bad for him every year. He starts out with such high hopes for the season and then every year, he's dragged back down into the toilet, poor guy. His second team is the Seahawks, so at least he has something to root for this year. And he just loves football.....period.

Chili is made and in the crock pot. I'll try making the guac this afternoon and am a little nervous about that. I have pocketless pitas to make pita chips and he bought a couple kinds of crackers. The wings are marinating, but no outside grilling....guess I'll be trying to broil them.

You know, I could eat some potato salad; I just love potato salad.

I saw one of the Budweiser commercials on YouTube. Wuss that I am, it brought tears to my eyes.

We have a big BBQ Brisket & Ribs potluck at our campground's clubhouse organized by a couple of guys, one of which, their family BBQ'd competitively for years.  We're all bringing sides or snacks to go with BBQ and football.  We're bringing a sausage cheese dip.

There are some cute videos.  I'm going to turn on the TV in the cat room and let the kitties watch the kitten bowl this afternoon.
