I had been feeling her but today before the vet and I thought she might have a poop stuck in the end. It turned out to be impacted anal glands. The doc says she emptied them and I should bring her back in a couple weeks to see if she needs it again. Oh it looked like it hurts the poor baby I hope this does not happen to your kitty. The other thing is she did not have any poops backed up and her intestinal area felt fine.

Glad she didn't have any poops backed up.
Yeah, I can imagine it hurts. Ritz has had to have her anal glands expressed a couple of times. As I understand it, the poop has to be the right hardness for the cat's anal glands to be expressed naturally, through the pooping action.
Did you vet have any suggestions as to how to keep the anal glands nice and healthy?

No suggestions she just wants me to bring Pewny back in 2 weeks. She did say this might be at the route of all the problems.

Try adding plain canned pumpkin and wet food to her diet to help soften poops.

Very glad to hear that she was not backed up. My female is prone to her anal glands filling up. Fortunately there have been no impactions. If your kitty is prone to her anal glands backing up, then you might want to have your vet show you how to express her glands so this can be done from time to time to keep things cleared out and reduce the chance of impaction. This is a fairly easy thing to do, but you would need to know where the glands are located and the technique involved.

That's a good idea I will ask the vet to teach me.

I'm so glad to hear that you were able to find out what was wrong and give Pewny some relief.
Wonderful news. Hopefully, she won't have to have it them expelled again, but now that you know what happened you'll be able to catch it before it gets so bad and it won't be so painful for her.
