I really like him. I keep up with his facebook page and YouTube. He seems to really "get" cats the same way that a cat person does, and he's also involved in rescue work.
I love the show because it respects cats as cats and who they are and their needs, rather than trying to make cats "easier" for their caregivers. He advocates very vocally for spay/neuter and proper litterbox care, as well as giving cats safe spaces and putting positive energy into them and NEVER hitting them.
Altogether, he seems like a really great guy. I'm a fan!
I'm not familiar with him, though several members here have commented on how his recommendations for various things have been very helpful. And my sister watches his show and told me (last night, actually) that there are a lot of things her cat does/did that he's talked about on his show and it's helped her to understand her cat a lot better. Based on this, I think he's legit.
I'm a fan of his. Getting to know Gracie(RIP) was pretty challenging, because she was feral for at least 15 years (we believe). It took us 3 months before Gracie trusted me enough to come and cuddle with me. But thanks to Galaxy, all of his tips helped a lot. And now they are helping me with my Margo
I think he is the real deal. He says he started working with animals in a shelter in Denver, I don't think that's a lie because it could be easily checked. If it's not true we would have heard it by now. Same thing with everything else in his past, battling drug addition, food addiction, and a tobacco addiction, yeah he dealt with just about everything there is to be addicted to.
His advice has been very helpful to me. He really understands the kitties and I like how what he says revolves around cats' natural habits, not habits that we as owners sometimes try to force into them.
