We have 2 kittens, ages 6 & 8 months. One of them has been diagnosed with FHV. He is on his second round of medication. His eyes have cleared up, no more cough . He does still sneeze. The other kitten sneezes a lot but that is her only symptom. After reading about using Lysine on this site, we started both of them on 250 mg twice a day. It has helped a lot but I was wondering if we should increase it to 500 mg twice a day until all symptoms are gone. Then cutback. They eat out of the same bowl. We've tried separate bowls but they always end up together. They are eating well, playing & using the litter box. Any advice or opinions?

I double my kitties lysine dose when they are having flare ups.  I'm considering adding the Lactoferrin though.

For an active flare up, increase it to 500mg twice a day. Once he's better, reduce it back to 250mg twice a day.  It's important for the lysine to stay in the system, hence the twice a day dose.
