Well done you guys. Happy New Year!! Let's get fitter than ever in 2014!! Yay! We can do it.

I went back to the lake again today. Our weather has been so changeable. It was cool today so I ran 21 mins. I also did 30 mins of yoga.

I didn't hit the elliptical this morning; when Rick brings me into work, I'm here by 6:00, so there's no time for exercise. If it was lighter outside, I would try walking, but it's still way too dark.

I want to walk over lunch today. Rick and I "discussed" me walking and he is not happy. Between the frigid cold and that wind, he doesn't want me out there. I told him that even if I did one mile, it's better than nothing. But I am leery. Yes, I do have the clothing and the equipment to be outside, but man, it's really, REALLY cold out there right now. And I have to walk into that wind on my way back to the office. It's gonna be nasty.

Maybe a day off isn't a bad idea, Pam? I'm not sure if you are as cold as we are, but they are warning everyone to stay inside.

Yesterday was a day off as it was already getting slippery. Today's exercise will be clearing snow later.

Long story short again on the fitbit- it finally arrived and he ordered the wrong size. Is it supposed to be worn tight or loose? He ordered the Force. What do all of you have?

It's cold here....really cold. And that wind. Not good.

I have the Fitbit Flex. It came with two wristbands (small and large). I started out wearing it on the larger band, but then switched over to the small. I think that with the Force, the fitbit itself is permanently attached to the wristband. With the Flex, you take the fitbit out of the band and put it in the "dongle" (I know, there's that word again!) and then plug the dongle into the computer to charge the fitbit. With the Force, I think the fitbit is permanently attached, so you have to plug the whole thing into the computer. Is that right? My Flex is about as tight as a watchband would be; I can move it a little on my wrist, but not the whole way around. I can get one finger between the wristband and my wrist, but no more than that. I don't think it's supposed to be very loose. Does that help?

Actually I think "dongle" is really the name for the little bug-thing that is permanently plugged in to the computer; that's what syncs into the fitbit on your wrist. But I'm not sure. I just like saying "dongle".

We debated about me switching over to the Force (remember my complaints about Fitbit and the elliptical). For now anyway, I'm going to keep using the Flex. The only time I take it off is when I'm in the shower. That's it. I think it was Pat who said she had some allergy issues with the wristband, so she doesn't wear hers all the time. If you wear a wristwatch, just switch the watch over to your other wrist; that's what I'm doing. The Fitbit has to be on the non-dominant wrist.

I'd walk around your building..find an "indoor" circquit you can do.  I'm sure you won't be the only one doing so on their lunch hour!

Yes, I have the fitbit flex and from now on will be taking it off when it's a situation where it could get wet.  I never want an skin infection like that again <shudder>.

3 miles! It's not as bad as I thought it would be. Honest. Either that or I went outside, turned into a popsicle and that point, it didn't matter. I just made up my mind I was doing it.
(But I wouldn't have even attempted it without my YakTrax. There are some seriously slippery areas.) 13 degrees with a RealFeel of 5, so we're not even below 0 anymore.

There aren't any indoor circuits around here. None. I'd have to hit the treadmill at a gym. Had I been able to use the elliptical this morning, I probably would have bagged the walk; I figure that as long as I can so at least 3 miles, either elliptical or treadmill, I'm OK. But I really don't want to not do something so early in the year.

I did 48 minutes on my exercise bike this afternoon.  Very happy with the number of times I've exercised this week.

I watched the news today about the terrible weather you've been having Pam and then at the end they showed a woman out jogging in it!! You go for it but be careful. Good work Pat.

I did 30 mins 6 pack abs today.

You, too, Tammat....keep it up! Pat, you're doing so well with your bike! Yay you!

3 miles on the treadmill this morning

I didn't do anything yesterday because Rick and I shoveled out the driveway and that should be considered exercise. I made my fitbit goal just by shoveling.

Six pack abs and 25 mins run for me today. I could feel my Christmas pudding bum wobble as I ran today. I have been so naughty. If I wasn't exercising it would be a very serious situation!!

Good work people!! Keep it up!!
