Despite everything, her kidneys crashed and I am told she will die in 2-3 days. They could keep her in hospital and give her IV fluids and antibiotics but even then just 6 more weeks if lucky. We tried so hard. She is sleeping beside me now. We are taking her in tomorrow. I am so sad. We tired so hard. We had her on Pepcid ac then mirtazapine also fluids but she fought so hard we had to stop. I am so messed up. It happened so fast. I did everything from Tanya's site, raised the dishes, different food, , vitamin B, but I guess it wasn't enough.

I guess I am not making much sense, but fortunately I have support, my husband, he is off course very sad too, but handling it better than me right now. The vet said we had done everything right but I still feel so guilty.

Well, that's it. She is a beautiful little soul.

I know you HAVE done everything right.  It's not your fault.  Please, please, please try to forgive yourself.  Sometimes it's just like with people--no matter now good the care is, it's their time and there's nothing we can do about it.

I spent the last night with my baby Skittles exactly like you're doing--she curled up beside me and I was sick, knowing what was coming the next morning.  I'm so sorry you're going through this.

I don't know if you've seen this, but I've referred this link to so many people.  It doesn't take the pain away, but it helps a little to know others have been where you are:  http://www.thecatsite.com/t/237066/when-the-moment-comes

Please post again and let us know how you are doing.  My thoughts are with you, your husband, and Honey tonight.

My thoughts are with you, having been in the same situation a little over 9 months ago. You can only do your best; eventually disease wins and you have to let go. I'm very sorry her time has come. :hugs:

Thank you for your kindness. I feel better after some sleep last night. I woke up in the middle of the night and read these loving messages, so I was able to go back to sleep. My husband has been just super and slept on the couch because she wanted to sleep by the heat register in the living room. He didn't want her to be alone. Today will be very hard but I look at it as we are guiding her to a place of peace. When some time has passed I will post some pictures and a tribute.

Thank you.

I'm so very sorry you have to go through this, but I  know you fought a courageous battle. Bless you for caring so much and loving her as much as you do, it means the world to her right now. She'll be forever in your heart until you meet again at the Rainbow Bridge. I'll pray for her little soul and for you and your husband to find peace in the days to come. I'm happy you have each other to comfort one another. I'm crying as I think of the agony you'll have to go through. Please accept my condolences.  RIP Sweet Baby.

I know it can be devastating to lose a pet. Remember how loved and cared for she was while she was with you. You did everything you could and provided a good life for her. Don't lose sight of that in the pain.

We have to decided to have her cremated in the least costly way and to donate the savings to the shelter where we found her. I feel strangely at peace. The doctor who will be attending her is the same one who attended our Vancouver many years ago. He is gentle and loving.

That is a beautiful photo of your little girl.  I hope you are doing okay, I've been thinking about you all.

Jcat and Betsy, that is so sweet of you. We are grieving, no way to avoid it. Keep expecting to see her.  Feel empty. Sometimes feel mad. There is a blizzard here (Michigan) so I can't even go out and walk, my usual way of dealing with stuff. Sooo nice to have this site. My friends and FB friends have also been so supportive. Thank you.

I'm very sorry.  That is a beautiful picture Honey.  And it's wonderful that you are donating to the shelter.  It's so kind of you to think of other cats in need at a time like this.
