Hi Everyone!
I've had cats all my life, and just adopted a sweet, big boy named Truman. He was living on the streets, but was someone's pet because he is very affectionate. I adopted him from a rescue who fosters the cats. I've had him for a week, and he is slowly adjusting. I posted a question about him adjusting to my spoiled dog in the behavior forum and got some great answers.
Unfortunately, I had to put down my last cat about a year ago. She suddenly started peeing all over the house, on beds, furniture, chothing, etc. and I did everything possible to stop it. Even tried a little bit of valuim, all under a cat vet's care. The vet even consulted with Tufts vetinary school, and finally did some full-body x-rays. It turned out she had a brain tumor that was affecting her behavior and probably causing pain. So sometimes it is something other than UTIs, etc. Poor baby, she's catching all the mice she wants in kitty heaven.
Anyway, I'm so glad I have Truman now!
