Very new

Hello everyone.  I am a first time owner of a 4 month old Scottish Fold, Link is his name.  I have never had any other pets before, so any advice/tips would be incredibly appreciated.  

Link has been with me for about 3 days now.  He is incredibly affectionate, but still a little scared of me.  He will follow me around the house but only while ducking under cover of something.  However, he absolutely loves being pet.

I was in your shoes around four years ago. My friend rescued Ritz after she and her litter mates were abandoned when they were around five months old. I had never been around cats before, so I needed to learn a lot, fast. I discovered TSC about four months later.

Some things I remember, kind of 'what I wish I knew then':
It's them, not you: cats have their moods just like people.
Consistency really helps--food the same time, play time the same time, clean that litter box at least twice a day.
Let the cat dictate how much lovin' he wants.

Hi, welcome to TCS!  It's nice to have you aboard.  I'm sure Link will warm up to you soon.     Blackberry doesn't really like to be petted, but she is probably the sweetest, most gentle cat we have.  She is a just touch-me-not cat.    

welcome! I'm new here too. One of my kittens is way shyer than the other, but she came around (still not as snuggly as the other but that's just their personalities). You should post pictures of your kids
