Hello everyone my name is Julie and I live in Swansea South Wales , we have Chico a 6 mth old female kitten we have had since she was 9wks old , we had her spayed a fortnight ago and she is doing well and such a little sweetie.

I must add I am not fussed on her name CHICO and would have loved something more girly but my son named her as he is an avid Swansea City football supporter and named her after one of the players Chico Florres ..   Don't ask
but I think its awful and doesn't suit her

Is that your kitty in your avator photo?  Adorable!

We had a cat named "Skittles".  My young stepson named her after those candies called Skittles which were his favorite at the time.  Not my idea of a name, either, but she was ostensibly "his" cat so we let him pick the name.

Later we called her "Skids" because as a kitten she skidded around the house like a crazed thing, bouncing off the walls, etc.  And later yet, we called her "Queen Skits" because she was an only cat and ruled our household with an iron paw.

I'll bet you'll come up with nicknames for her as time goes on.

Yes, that's our little one in the photo .....I often call her Cheeky Or Cheeks , but I have always been for giving our pets more `human Names `  I would have much preferred he had named her Libby after the Liberty Stadium , but when I said that to him after we had had her about a week he said " he hadn't thought of that " wish I had earlier. lol

Welcome to The Cat Site! :wavey:

My town was actually named after yours! Some of the original settlers of my town came from your city. :).

She's pretty young--maybe you could still switch names.  People often change names of a pet after they adopt them.

After Skittles passed, we ended up with three young cats from our local SPCA.  They gave cats random names just to personalize them, I suppose, so one was named "Brazil", one was "Penzoil" (really?) and I don't even remember the third one's SPCA name.  We renamed them to Zoe, Rico and Ozzy and they did just fine relearning their new names.  :-)

I prefer the names you picked for your kitties . I don't think we could change Chico`s now as she has got used to it and so have we, but I do call her baby quite a bit lol
