I got a tin of sardines and figure later today I'll give some as a snack. I've never given sardines or even eaten them from a tin myself. Do I have to do anything like cut off the tail or head? And what about the rest of the sardines? I'm obviously not going to give a whole tin to a single cat. Do I freeze them?

I feed them straight out of the can, juice and all. I split a can between 3 cats as a snack, I've never tried freezing them but I don't know why you couldn't.

I have frozen them into individual servings. And yup, I just feed them as is. No prep necessary.

Thanks!

When I opened the can it wasn't like the sardines you see in the pictures, tiny fishes all lined up. It was part of a fish, the height being about 1.5". So I cut it up in small pieces. Poppy has a missing front tooth, so size of chunks for fresh meat is important.

Despite her difficulties with the missing tooth, Poppy pretty much snorfled it down. Very good for a new meat. She usually tries new food, but is tentative about it.
