It's cute!! Keeping my fingers crossed everything works out well and you are able to get the property!

I haven't heard a thing for over a week! I'm hoping that means everything is progressing well. I took some papers into the realtor (he wasn't there but the secretary and other realtor said everything was fine) and left a message with the mortgage agent, but he hasn't called back (to be fair, I did say "if you need anything else, call me" so hopefully he just doesn't need anything else :lol3.

The seller said I could start moving stuff in if I want :tongue2:. I think I'll wait a bit, LOL.

I was wondering how things were going!!  I hope no news is good news!

This is the worst part - the waiting. I can guarantee you will be asked for multiples of paperwork you already submitted, so be prepared. But it will be worth the aggravation.

We're all waiting, and it feels bad enough just watching as a spectator!  It must feel like forever Willowy.... hoping that maybe just maybe you've heard something and have gone in to mad overdrive preparing to move.  I can always hope.  

Well, it'll happen one way or the other---the seller will take contract for deed if the standard mortgage doesn't go through. I would just rather deal with a mortgage company than a private party; seems less risky somehow. I met with the realtor today and he said everything is in order except the appraisal, and he heard that the appraiser went out there either yesterday or today. So I assume I'll be hearing from the mortgage agent soon, maybe Monday if he doesn't work weekends.

Fortunately, I don't have to move in a mad rush . I'm not selling my current house right away. It needs to be, um. . .de-catted :tongue2:. Needs paint, new carpet, some repairs, and I wouldn't try to do any of that with all the cats in the way. And I have enough in savings to manage both mortgages for a while, especially since I have no other debt and have been working way too much lately! So moving will be a gradual process, hopefully low-stress for everyone. But, yeah, once everything is in order, especially if that happens next week, waiting until Oct 4th for closing will seem like forever!

So I finally heard from the mortgage company and the appraisal is done. Closing is at 10 am Friday. Took them long enough! I was annoying the mortgage agent and realtor all last week about it but they couldn't do anything until the appraiser did his thing. . .and he sure took his time. I hope this is it and nothing else comes up to delay it!

Gah. I haven't even started packing . I do have a guy painting the outside of my current house though---I can hear him scraping away right now. Exterior painting isn't cheap! Yikes. But he's also doing the landscaping (I let it get a little wild :lol3. Hope the snow holds off for a reasonable amount of time so moving doesn't get complicated.

YEAH!!!!!     This is so exciting! Congrats again! 

Too bad I don't live closer to you....I want to come over and help!
