Is there something you have started but never finished in the past ?  I started a hook rug  long ago for my then grandson who was 8 that is still in a plastic bag. I don't even know if he still wants it if I decided to finish it.

He is now 16.

I made Halloween dresses for my daughter every year when she was younger. When she was four, the material I used for her dress had black cats and witches on it, with a green background, and I bought these cute little black cat-shaped buttons for the front.

Halfway through sewing the dress my sewing machine broke, I took it for repair but it would have cost as much as new one. We decided not to buy one yet since we were moving to another country in a couple of months. By the time we moved and I finally got another machine, we were well past Halloween and no way could she still wear that size that next Halloween, so there was no use in finishing it. Oh well.

I used to do rug-hooking. I have a lion's head that's still not finished. It's about 5 x 4 feet with a lot of blacks, browns, yellows, and golds and it would be gorgeous if I ever got it finished. I think I have it about 1/3 of the way done, but I put it away years and years ago and never got it back out. I think about it every so often and think it would be a good project to work on during the winter months while watching tv.

I have started a sock twice in my life.  The first one I ripped out long ago.  The most recent one, I need to consult a knitting book to learn how to finish it, haven't yet, there's still hope for it.  I've started and not finished too many other things to count.

Paint by numbers. I buy the really nice, super detailed ones, get about 98% done and stop working on them.

Hahahaha!  This is a great question.  I've knitted on and off over the years, hadn't done it for years and decided to try again.  So I started small, a scarf....some years later (not even sure how many), like your project, it was still in a bag, about 1/3 done.
I finally gave away the knitting supplies, I'll never go back to it. LOL

I leave a lot of stuff unfinished looking back lol. I lose interest rather quickly or misplace what I was working on. I have a tin of Naruto cards that I have needed to put into binders for months now. I have three binders and hundreds of cards, I have to keep reorganizing them when I get new ones and it takes forever.

I've halted on purchasing anymore until I force myself to finish with what I already have. I also have plenty of cross stitches and other crafts that I've not finished.
