Soo..

Has anyone ever been set on a career, and then ramdonly you just feel like changing? As lots know, I was a pre-med student bound for med school....... that all changed recently. I ended up getting a D in biology, and knowing I just did not get "into" science, so I went back to my "first love" if you will, childcare. I now am running a home pre-school and it is going great!!! I know it seems like I have disappeared from the planet.. but I'm still around :)

I love what I do and would not change it for the world!!!!!

Has anyone else ever had something like that happen??

I'm glad it's all going well for you.

I've always worked in a factory and really didn't know any better. It was always a dream for me to go to college, but I never did much about it. Then, after getting locked-out during a labor dispute with a paper plant during the mid-1980s (there were four plants in all throughout the US that went through it), I realized that it was now or never. I applied for admission to a local university, got accepted, and started classes. The company paid for all my classes (we had a tuition program at work; if you received A's or B's for your classes, the company reimbursed 100%; get a C and you got 75%, and anything lower was not reimbursed), allowed me the time off work (unpaid) to attend classes, and I paid for my books and supplies. Took me ten years, but I got my degree (Geography, with a concentration in Environmental Planning). And I'm now working in the planning field.

And the paper plant? It's gone and there's a WalMart in that location now.

(I loved my biology classes.....it was chemistry that killed me. Took everything I had and then some to get through one of those classes. Hated them.)

Ever since i learned how to draw as a child, I've always wanted to do something with art.. I've always wanted to create cartoons with the Disney Team.. but I never got that far. I am very happy as a Graphic Designer and I wouldn't change it (maybe a different company..)

Biology and chemistry have always been my first loves academically, but I cannot imagine becoming a doctor today with the direction ObamaCare is taking them. I'm glad that I decided against medical school. I prefer taking care of the patient and thankfully in nursing I can do exactly that.

Glad you found something that makes you happy!

Well, I was actually heading toward PA Physician Assistant. But the problem I ran into was, I would have had to pass Organic and Regular Chemistry- both of which College Algebra was a pre-requisite for, when I was still in Developmental math classes.........

So now straight A's in my education classes........ I think it's a no brainer :)
