So this will be her 2nd litter, we willingly take care of her kittens, we do not give them to shelters. Just so no one says spay her it costs to much $$$. So on to the question, Today she was scratching grass, sniffing poles, coolers, grass, and even went into a shed and started to sniff around. I set her up a box she doesn`t seem to be interested in it, and it is huge!!! Lol.
She has pink long nipples and licks herself all the time. She lays on her side and has to keep moving around to get comfortable. I`ll try to keep you updated. Thanks in advance!!
is kind of what she looks like and she is 6  inches wide.  Any help would be useful!! Thx

Ok so my cat angel has been pregnant for a while I don`t know exactly when though. Today she started to scratch grass, and sniffing coolers, wood, dirt, and grass. She even went into a shed and looked around for a while. Sometime in the middle of this it looked like she was trying to use the restroom nothing happened though. She also licks herself a lot. She has pink nipples, and there is this dried white stuff on them ( you can rub it off ) is it milk?? She is 6`` wide. Anything would be helpful! Thanks in advance!! I will try to keep you posted. So was she nesting?

got pregnant around one of these dates I think.

Is there any way you can keep her inside before the births? I am no pro with kitten births but the cat we took in just kind of had them. I mean she searched for a nest for like a week but when she went into labor there was no warning for it and I didn't have time to move her before the first kitten came out! It can be a bit messy so make sure you have fresh bedding to put in her nest once she has them. Very best of luck to you.

The biggest thing to look for is when she goes off her food. When my cat Toby had kittens in march, she didn't want to eat that morning and by that afternoon she had lost her mucus plug (on my lap of all places) and then that evening had her kittens, a 12 hour total.

Wow 12 hours, I am hoping she gives birth within Wednesday. I leave for a family reunion then. I really want to be there when she gives birth. By any chance do you know how wide some cats, or your cats were when they gave birth. Mine is 6`` wide. Thanks!

Now I can`t find her which worries me because she is an outside cat and this a 500 acre farm. I hope she shows up.

What do you mean wide? across the back, from adorable baby bump to adorable baby bump? xD

Toby got huge, she had 5 kittens, she was probably 7 or 8 inches across her back. that depends on the cat though.

You can count 3 to 4 weeks(give or take a couple days) from the time she started to show, or when you noticed she was getting a slight lump, most cats start showing at around 5 weeks along, but some start showing at 4 weeks. Toby started showing at 3 o_o

Yes, she is now 6 1/4 inches. I am just soooo excited, and my other cat ( died but the mother of the pregnant cat ) She had 6 but only 4 survived. She was 7-8 inches as well.

My pregnant cat is 6 1/4`` inches wide, 2 days ago she was 6``. I hope she is close to delivery! She is starting to nest. Woo-hoo! I want to know how wide your cats were (estimate or exact answer) before they gave birth, and how many kittens. My pregnant cats mother, had 6 kittens and 7-8`` wide!!! And by wide I mean from the beginning of 1 baby bump to the 2nd baby bump. Thank you!!!

Do you know when she conceived? If not it's just a waiting game and all you can do is prepare your birthing box, your birthing kit, and yourself as much as you can. As a general rule once you can see/feel the kittens moving you are about two weeks away from delivery.

It is helpful to look through past threads as well as at all these links as you make your preparations:

http://www.thecatsite.com/t/249018/...regnant-cats-kitten-care-articles-and-threads

I know you said you don't want anyone to tell you to spay her, but please note that TCS is a pro spay and neuter community. While it is great that you either keep or re-home the kittens yourselves the fundamental issue is that there aren't enough homes for all the cats and kittens that need one. So, for every kitten you bring into the world, somewhere in your community another one is put to sleep. That's just the basic math. And, while it may seem so in the short term, having her spayed is much cheaper in the long term than raising even one litter of kittens, just factoring in the additional food and litter alone.

Leaving your girl intact is also very unhealthy for her. She is at a much higher risk of developing mammary cancer, life threatening pyometra, and developing behavioral problems such as spraying. If you are keeping any of her male kittens you are adding inbreeding to the mix, increasing the likelihood of her having complications during delivery.

Our job on TCS is to both educate and advise, and we take both very seriously. Please, continue to ask questions as you need to and we will answer them as best we can and prepare you as much as we can. But, in the process, you will hear pro spay arguments. That is just the nature of the site, and it is reiterated both in the forum rules: http://www.thecatsite.com/t/247178/pregnant-cats-kittens-forum-code-of-conduct-read-before-you-post , as well as in a letter from the site's founder: http://www.thecatsite.com/t/257546/...-of-thecatsite-com-to-owners-of-pregnant-cats . You can minimize this by using one thread so that members can follow what has happened and what has already been said.

If you have more questions please ask them. The more specific you are the better advice we can give.

Vibes for a safe and healthy delivery
