I have a friend of a friend who does odd jobs.  I pay him (he's not at all expensive) to come and give me a hand for four hours, about once a month.  It's such a treat: he is considerably stronger than I am, two people gets SO much more done and  tackle those jobs I've been putting off.

So my question is:

If you had a handy-person to help you do anything in the

house or garden for four hours, what would you do?

The last time he came down we took absolutely everything out of the garden shed, cleaned, threw away etc and put it back in.

It's fabulous!!

Hmmmmm. . . We have one of those big carpet steam cleaners that we use from time to time and the worst part about it is moving all of the furniture. I'd have someone come over to help move the stuff around so I could concentrate on just the flooring. We'd have cookies as well lol, we all need to take breaks!

is he cute ? (Just kidding) probably redo my closet shelves, shampoo my front room, replace some tiles in my kitchen. And while he is doing all this I can just sit back and stare at him.

That is a great idea Mani!  My friend's Dad is retired military.  Her Mom will hire an airman once or twice a year to help clear out their flower beds and do some minor bush trimming and things like that.  It doesn't cost them too much; but she says it saves their backs!

For myself I'd either get the carpets cleaned (cats and kids...it's a job!), get some landscaping done outside (There is nothing planted around the actual house here), or possibly help DH do some things like install crown molding and chair rails.

Ooo!  I forgot about installing a tile backsplash in my kitchen!  Some kind of natural stone one.

This is too easy... I can always come up with another project!

I would have someone do all of the very tedious cleaning - like all of the floor moldings, wash the walls, vacuum the brick interior walls :lol3:, wash all of the vertical blinds and after all of that, if there was anytime left  - maybe get a neck/back massage on the side. :flail:
