I have wondered about these types of pictures for a very long time. They usually come to me in the form of an email/joke. I've seen some posters of cats/kittens/puppies where the animals appear almost to be "stuffed"? I hope this doesn't sound insane on my part, but, truly I am very curious. Are these just normal kittens that have been Photoshopped? Let me know what you all think. I am going to send along a couple of attached pictures for you guys to take a look at. Cindy W.

It is called digital imaging. How they are done is an interesting story and will be part of an article that will be published on TCS in November. I had the privlege of interviewing one of the Masters of photoshopping- John Lund and that is what the article is about. They use real animals, and they photograph one portion of the animal at a time, then they store all the photos of the *parts* on the computer to use later.

Here is John's website:

Meet John

His images are astounding

I think these pictures are soooo cute! I can't believe how they can do those pictures. I am pretty sure that this particular picture is pretty old. That is why I am curious if they are Photoshopped? I thought that this picture was old enough that it predated some of the new Photoshop techniques. I have seen other similar pictures of this sort. One that comes to mind is one of a mouse attempting to take cheese out of a mousetrap with a fork. Anyways...I must have too much time on my hands! Here is another cute kitty picture
