Well the kittens are 11+ weeks now; Truffles went to her forever home on Thursday and Bailey is going later today.  Both are such lucky animals and will have plenty of green pastures to explore in their new homes with experienced owners.

I took Mummy Cat to the vet this week for her spaying appointment, but vet said she still had milk and refused to do the operation.  Instead she must wear a bodysuit for the next 10 days and then go back.  I was very disappointed because I have never heard of this before, and the poor cat has been confined to the house since February.  She started calling last week and I have had the devils own job to keep her from getting out, including chasing her in from the garden on three occasions!

I only want to do the best for the cat but I wondered if anyone had any experience of this 'jumper' the vet gave me as I can't help but think it was all about the money.  I wish I could find a picture to show you how much of a ninji she looks!

Thanks.

The jumper is common enough in the opposite case; after the operation, so she wont lick the wound. As a alternative to the elisabethanian collar.  Or possibly so the kittens wont nurse if it is time to end.

As the kittens are goint to their new homes, he perhaps though the warmth inside this jumper will prevent inflammation in the titts.  If so, interesting tip to know, as this is a common question. What to do when we want the milk to dry out?

Why talk you about money here? Did the vet charged extra? Or took full payment for the appointment here when he said: come back in 10 days?

a little odd, but if he feels so, so he feels so. But if he takes payment twice for the same thing, it is less usual.

good luck!

Thanks for the response.

The 'jumper' as he called it cost me £18 - that is why I mentioned money.   I have to take her back in 10 days for the operation.  It is like a babygrow, bur has holes for her legs and her bottom, so that she can go to the toilet.  I will keep her in it for 8 days and then wash it so that it can go back on after the operation.  I can see that being a better option than a collar and still allows for the kitten to cuddle and for her to groom.

The kittens are 10 weeks and have been weaved for the last four.  I was interested to know what others thought as the other vet wanted to spay her at six weeks when her milk production would have been in full flow.

I am glad I posted this query as I now see it in a more positive note.   I will try and post a photo so that you can see what it looks like.
