Hi all, it's been a few months since I've been online mainly because of school and busy with volunteer work. I'll be on a lot more this summer! Yesterday, Cuddles threw up nine times. She is a one year old healthy cat with no previous gastro issues. She was eating Wellness and Royal Canin, since she started refusing to eat her raw diet a few months ago. She had diarrhea this morning as well. I took out her favorite toy and she wouldn't play, and she wouldn't eat anything I offered...even the junky treats. :( I called the vet and brought her in and Dr. Lam said she looked alert and bright, which was a good sign, and she felt no abnormalities in her stomach. She did three x-rays of her abdomen and a blood panel. The x-rays showed no clear sign of any foreign body, but Dr. Lam says it's best to rule that out first so we agreed to give Cuddles a barIum and do the x-rays again. The blood panel showed no results, everything was absolutely normal. Cuddles' kidneys, liver, pancreas are all normal. :vibes: I'm just so worried. Does anyone have any experience with anything like this, or possibly some suggestions?

Sorry that Cuddles is sick. She could have an obstruction that's not showing up on x-rays. She could have ingested something toxic (but I would think there would be some sign of it on the bloodword). OR, it could be pancreatitis which doesn't show up on regular tests and needs a spec FPL test to diagnose although she seems young for something like pancreatitis. I hope you and your vet figure it out soon so that Cuddles can feel better soon.

I think sometimes they just get something like we humans get...something like the 24 hour flu as I call it.  Mine have had some vomiting and diarrhea one day, then been fine the next.

I would say since you took her to the Vet and had a thorough exam, I'd try not to worry and hopefully by tomorrow she'll be as good as new.

Did they give her any fluids while you were there.  Did they show you what to look for (dehydration), if she continues to have diarrhea and vomiting?  That's the main concern right now, is that she not get dehydrated, and, naturally, she cannot go too long without eating something.

What did they say when you left the Vet's office?  Surely they gave you some instructions?
