Good Morning! :sun: Last weekend we had my brother and his family over to see the new house. My brother is perpetually late for every get together. So recently when we make plans, I always give a time an hour earlier than I really mean. I think he caught on :lol3: because they were almost two hours late!!!!!!!!!!! :nothappy: I am the complete opposite of my brother. I am always on time for everything and if I am not, something is very wrong. I am usually early for most appointments. Even when I try to be "fashionably late", I still arrive right on the button with a minute to spare.

Are you usually late, early or right on time?

I can't STAND being late, it drives me crazy. If it's a 'function' I show up pretty much a few minutes early. I show up 15 to 30 min. early at family dinners to try to help out. I too have family that always shows up about an hour late (on both sides of the family) no apologies, no reasons, and the rest of the family will hold dinner for them. This happens EVERY time, not just once in a while! I sit there and seethe, everything is cold by the time they show up. And steaks! I hate mine well done, what do you do? I told my brother an hour earlier then the real time a couple of times, he found out and left mad, OH WELL! I  At least he was finally on time! don't care for people to show up right on time, don't they believe in visiting for a while before eating? Or should I tell them 6:00 and plan on eating at 7:00? I read once that people who always show up late are incredibly vain, they think every schedule revolves around them, I believe it!

Early and I will sit in car or some place right down street more often then not as I will get there to early.  I live less then a mile from my regular vet and I left house to find that you could not use the main road to get to the vet.  I ended up 2-3 minutes late and they were like we thought you forgot your appt.  My brother is horrible he leaves on average 30 minutes after he should, sister is pretty good.  Mom trys but I am so glad I do not live there anymore as I would be at door waiting and you would hear "oh I almost forgot I just need a minute" a good few times.  I would get edgy and "go warm car up" but that did nothing but waste gas

I used to be early...  Now it's often late.  I would plan everything out in my head so I knew how early to leave, etc.  I still do that; it just doesn't always work out that way.

I'm usually early or on time. But I have been late to things a few times.

I'm usually early for everything. Rick is usually, while not late, it's an effort to get anywhere on time when he's involved. And then he forgets things. We'll be halfway to the grocery store....and he's forgotten the money (how do you forget money?). Or we'll be driving down to the road and he's forgotten his pills (he's an epileptic and takes pills three times a day). How do you forget your pills? He waits until I'm ready to go and THEN he decides that maybe he'd better start getting dressed.
I tell him that "Everybody waits on Rick". I bet you that we have turned around in pretty much every single driveway along our road because he's forgotten one thing or another. And I'm serious. It's gotten to the point that, before we leave, I ask, "Do you have money? Do you have your pills? Do you have your wallet? What about the grocery card? Do you have your phone?" And so on. The man has a serious case of attention deficit. (He's really lucky he's so cute.)

My GF at work thinks it's cute being late. She thinks it's hilarious that she cannot be to work on time. And she always has a long, drawn-out story as to why she's late. Every single morning. "Oh, the traffic was terrible." "I didn't know what to wear today." "I had to clean out a litter box." And so on and so on.....

It frustrates me when people are perpetually late. Why is their time so much more important than mine? And I've given up. I've left appointments because people were perpetually late. I've made dates with people to go shopping or meet at a restaurant for breakfast or dinner. I wait ten minutes....if you're not there, that's your problem. I'm gone.

I'll get off my soapbox now. As you can see, this is a real button-pusher with me.

I'm just about always early for everything; I can't stand having to sit around and wait for other people, so I don't want people to have to do it for me.

YES!!! This drives me nuts about my brother. He is the youngest of five and always seemed to get away with everything that we never could. My family also "holds" dinner for him to arrive. Really burns me up!!!!! I did lay into him this past weekend for being so late to our home. AND GET THIS!! :eek:nfire: This has happened more than a couple of times too. When we are going to visit him at his house and have a time all set up (which he agreed too), we arrive to his house on the button. NO ONE IS HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :stomp: Once in 100 degree temps. My brother is a VERY successful business man and is definitely Very vain. I always ask him if he is on time for business meetings. :lol3: I do love him and especially my twin six year old niece and nephew.

:lol3: about Rick!! You should see me the last fifteen minutes before I have to go somewhere. You would think I was not prepared but it is all of the last minute things I have to double check before I go that has me in a tizzy. :lol3: I also forget things sometimes and that drives Larry nuts.

The other day I had my first dentist appt. for a couple of problems that need addressing. Appt. was at noon. I was there at 11:50 a.m. Finally at 12:25 p.m. I got up and said that if I don't get in within 5 minutes I have to reschedule because I was on a specific time frame for the day. :lol3: YEP, I even get  when I have to wait for doctors.

I completely agree about my time being just as important as someone else's and I also have :walk: out on people before if they are quite late for something. Yep, being late is definitely a "HOT" button for me too. ;)

YEP, I even get
when I have to wait for doctors.

A couple years ago I was waiting for my GYN exam. Sitting in a cold room with nothing but a gown and a sheet on isn't comfortable. I waited and I waited. Finally, after 45 minutes, I wrapped everything around me and walked out into the hallway and asked where the doctor was. They were having computer problems and everything was in an uproar. (I don't know why they couldn't just write everything down and then put it all into the computer after it's back up, but I guess that's a stupid thought.) After about 15 more minutes, my doctor came in and he apologized profusely. And then, after my exam, he took me into his office and wrote me out a check for my co-pay. He said he doesn't like to make people wait and it wasn't fair to me. (I think I was the only one who really complained, though.) So he gave me my co-pay back as an apology.

I had a dr appt to have my blood pressure checked. It was over my lunch break and I only have one hour for lunch. I got there early and waited. And waited. After 30 minutes, I asked how long it was going to be. She told me "Doctor was running late." Yeah, I got that. And I left. They wouldn't have wanted to check my BP at that point! Now? I make an early morning appointment with this doctor, so I'm first on her schedule. I still end up waiting about ten minutes or so.....I don't know why.

Always rushing...too busy a schedule but that is not my lot to complain about. I opted to work in this field -medicine (clinicall, teaching an research) and serving onnumerous Boards. So it is my responsibility andi do try to be on time -usually am. Just wish it was more relaxing to get there. :-)

i'm always 10-15 min early. so is DH. if we go to a concert we're usually 1-2hrs early. traffic can be horrible out here so we make sure we have extra time.

one of my sisters is always about 30 min late, especially for family get-togethers. that way she can make a 'grand entrance' and everybody watches her.

what really ticks me off is when somebody says 'oh in a little while'. to me that means less tha an hour because otherwise it would be in a couple hours. a friend of mine told me once that if she says 'in a little while' your lucky if it's the same day

OH PAM... :spit: Going out of the room wrapped in those paper towel gowns looking for the doctor.:clap::clap::clap: I DO like your gumption. Are you sure your doctor wasn't paying you for that as well. :lol3: GOOD FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!! and nice of the dr.

Right!!?? Check your BP after you are :eek:nfire: because you have had to wait TOO long to be seen. ARGH. frustrating. I also try to make my appts. the first one of the day with vets and doctors alike.
