Hi all,

Well, in 6 weeks, we get our new little girl.  We have been waiting for her for 1 year - through unemployment, leukemia, a death in a previous litter...and now we are just about here!  She is to be a much needed friend for our Korat boy (neutered of course) who is a bundle of energy.  I can't quite believe we have managed to raise him thus far (2.5years old) as a single cat - Korat breeders shudder at the thought of the chaos a single Korat kitten can create, as they are traditionally given in pairs for very good reason!!  Anyway, we have been extremely good, diligent, cat rules our life fur-parents, and now about to rectify our ignorant single Korat decision!

Naming wise, these are the contenders.  Must be short (no more than 2 syllables), easy to say, and suitable for a spritely, spunky, sweet girl.  Oh, and not too similar to 'Kato' so there's no confusion.  All Korats are blue (grey with tipped hair that creates a silvery shimmer), with peridot green eyes on maturity.

If you have suggestions, I would LOVE to hear them!

So far:

Lara

Mica

Mieka

Lena

Ava (I can't do this one anymore, as our kitten who couldn't come to us was called this.  But men, huh, they don't have the same sentimentality, so my Hubby still wants the same name!)

I'll move this thread to the Cat Lounge. I think you'll get more attention there.

What is her registered name from the breeder? Are you looking for a new name to register or a call name (nickname)?

Thanks everyone, and thanks GoldyCat.  I get to choose the name - of course with the breeder prefix Doklao.  Depending on the name I choose, we might stick a 'Blu' in there too so it's very distinct; 'Doklao Blu X'.  My husband wants to have the name we use daily the same as the registered name, which is fine by me, hence the short prereq.  (Of course, judging by our experience with Kato, there are going to be a number of nicknames too, once we get to know her...none of which we'd ever write down!!)
