Yes, it could be stress induced labor.  How are the kittens looking?  Do they look premature?

If you want them premature to survive, be prepared to fight and help them extra, but chances arent very good.

Pauses in labor are not uncommon. Or stops. They CAN deliver a couple, and rest several hours later, or even several days later....

What to do, wait or immediately contact the vet, depends on the situation.

If the mom is calm, contend, happily busying herself with the already born kittens - you can wait.

Do observe and be ready, but you dont need worry too much.

If the mom isnt - prolonged labor, in distress or difficulties - contact your vet.  Begin by phone, the vet knows what follow up questions to give.  But be also ready to rush her in.

Good luck!
