Rocko's Thyroid Medication - Crushing it?

Well it looks like Rocko is on to us about his pill pockets. Just now I tried to give it to him and he wouldn't eat it like he has before. Is it okay to crush the thyroid pill up and put it in a little bit of canned food? I know some pills you can't crush or something. I think anyways. It's Tapazole. I just want this as stress free as possible for him.

Any tips on the best way to crush it would be appreciated too.
 

Crushing a pill would depend on how hard it is. I have arthritis and the grip strength of a 100 year old (maybe). Sometimes the back of a spoon is enough. Sometimes I need a mortar and pestle (make sure you wash the mortar and pestle really well both before and after using with any medications.

Whether you can get your cat to eat crushed medicine in his canned depends on how strong the medication smells and tastes. You might need a really strong smelling and tasting food to disguise it. I don't know anything about Tapazole, but hopefully someone who does will chime in.

Get the vet nurses to show you show to pill quickly and easily, or ask about getting the drug made up into a gel you can apply to the inside of his ear.
