I have not been to the board in a LOONG LOONG LOONG time. But when I did frequent this board everyone was very friendly.
No one understands my pain right now than you all friendly cat people.
I came home from work this morning at around 12:30a, I walk into my bedroom and find my 9 year old Maine coon mix Hendrix passed away on the floor. I knew instantly she was gone based on how she was laying and of course she was not breathing. I was in a state of shock but I instantly bagged her up and plan on either burying her, or taking her to a vet to dispose of.
She had been acting a little strange the last week or two, stopped eating and only drinking water. I based this behavior on our move we just did. She always acts a little strange when we move into a new place. Her sister Marley is usually unfazed just a loud rag doll mix that meows a lot. Hendrix was gentle but very lovable, and quiet. I had her since I was 17 years old, I adopted her from the vet clinic I worked at back then.
She was my best friend and knows all my secrets. We had a bond like no other and I will miss her dearly.
How do you all deal with this grief? Every time I look at Marley(the white one) I get teary eyed and miss my Hendrix.
