I've had various threads on this forum relating to my little Cindy and her troubles.  Here are a couple of them:

http://www.thecatsite.com/t/251565/vibes-for-cindy-please

http://www.thecatsite.com/t/253571/update-on-cindy

We have an appointment with the surgeon on Thursday.  A little bit ago, we got a call from our vet who told us that the surgeon believes that Cindy is a good candidate for surgery and that he wants to do it this week because he is going out town next week. We are excited and scared as well.  We have a highly recommended surgeon and oncologist, and we are so greatful they are willing to do Cindy's surgery now!

Thanks for all the vibes and prayers that have been coming Cindy's way and please if you wouldn't mind send just a few more.

We don't know for sure if she is having surgery Thursday or Friday. He does surgeries Thursday and Friday, we have an appointment Thursday at 11:30, so he could do it then.  She will have to stay at least one night.  If it's possible, he is going to remove the entire mass.  If not, he'll take pieces of it.  I am a wreck.  She's losing more weight

I just wish I knew for sure we were doing the right thing for her. I hate to put her through this if it's not going to help in the long run. She's still in pretty good spirits, even had a run and chase game with Swanie last night.  This has been such an emotional roller coaster...optimistic one minute, resigned the next.

Well, since she is continuing to lose weight, it seems this is probably your best solution
.

I know the waiting is so hard, but Thursday on only 2 days away, and hopefully he will be able to do it then, so you can take her home on Friday.

that he can remove the entire mass, never to be seen or heard from again

I know surgery is the only hope if we want to see what it is and try to fight it.  But all of this is taking an emotional toll on her.  She's very high strung and she gets so scared.  If the surgery will lead to treatment that will put her in remission, then that would be unbelievably fantastic.  If we put her through the surgery and find out she still only has a little bit of time left, is it fair for us to do this to her?  It just breaks my heart to see her so scared. I will never forgive myself for not going ahead with the surgery when the vet first found the mass.

Surgery is tomorrow morning, around 9:00.  We are going to wait in the waiting room.  The surgeon was very nice.  I wish they were doing it here it town, but it's really only a 30 minute drive so I'm grateful for that.  He said they will remove it if they can safely, otherwise they will just take a piece to biopsy.  I hope of course that they can remove it and that we can finally get a diagnosis and find out what treatment we can pursue.  She'll need to stay there over night, but we can visit with her for a bit after she wakes up (probably).  There is supposedly some bad weather coming in tomorrow afteroon, so it's just as well that she stay overnight, but it's going to be really rough not having her here with us.  I notice that they only allow you to call about them twice a day to ask about your pet

Sending some positive vibes your way for Cindy's surgery tomorrow. I'm sorry she has to stay overnight. That's rough. But soon enough she'll be reunited with you. I so hope the surgeon will be able to remove the mass completely.

Thank you everyone.  I have so much anxiety.  Right now she's sitting on our kitchen table looking out the window. If I didn't  know she has this thing, i would not believe there was anything wrong with her.

That describes it very well. To me, there is nothing that comes close to those ups and downs when our pets are sick. Very tough. My thoughts are with you and Cindy, hun!!! :cross: :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes: for a good news today from your vet. :cross:
