We took Cindy to the vet this morning, and the vet said she felt something abnormal in her abdomen.  The vet is going to d blood tests, Xrays, and urinalysis, and I guess we'll find out later today what it is.  Naturally I am a basket case right now, and scared to death. I would like to just go somewhere in a corner and cry myself sick, but I have to go back to work.  I love that little kitty so much.  Any vibes you can spare for her will be appreciated.

Thank you all

We still don't know.  There is something there, the vet and the surgeon could both feel it and it showed up on the XRays.  However, they couldn't tell from the XRay what it is.  They sent the XRay to a certified XRay technician (the surgeon's husband) to look at it, but we are scheduling an ultrasound in any case.  Once they do the ultrasound and get a good location, they will probably do a needle biopsy.  The other option is exploratory surgery, but as the vet pointed out, it would be better to know what it is first, and some things they don't treat with surgery.

Cindy didn't give them any urine until around 4:00, so they won't know the results of that until tomorrow.

Blood test was normal except that her calcium level was a bit elevated.  The vet said she "wasn't concerned" about that, but I am.

I'm sure the fact that there is something there can't be anything good.  Both DH and I are wrecks.

Again, thank you for the good wishes.  Poor little Cindy Lou

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
Oh I hope it's just an inflamed lymph node or something! But yes, this not knowing is scary. Been there. :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs:

Is she home with you now? And do you know when the ultrasound is yet? :cross: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes:

Yes, that's my hope too.  She is home with us, she's upstairs with DH and seems very alert this morning.  We don't know when the ultrasound will be, but sometime this week.  The vet has someone come in with the equipment and she has to make arrangements with, so they are going to do that today and let us know.  Also should hear something from the person reading the XRay and the urine sample today.  Yeah waiting is hard, and I feel very much yesterday like I was sucker punched.  Was thinking it seemed like a bladder infection and when the vet said she felt something abnormal in her abdomen it was devestating.  We are trying to stay positive and I so much appreciate the vibes and good words.

Dropping her off for her ultrasound today.  Has been a rough week so far for all of us.  Now on top of everything there seems to be issues between her and Swanie.

All paws crossed for Cindy. Praying whatever is there, is easily treatable. Is Swanie another cat?

The issues are probably just stemming from the strange smells coming off of Cindy.

Cindy
Swanie is our other cat.  Normally, they love each other and hang out together, so it's strange to see this going on.

Cindy is back from the vet.  The vet thinks it might be a lymph node.  They did a needle biopsy and we won't know for another week.  Cindy is showing no symptoms of anything other than her apparent fear of Swanie.  Swanie is currently in his "time out room."

The vet said biopsy results in a week - maybe sooner, maybe later.  Doubtful we'll get them before the weekend, but we are going to try to put it out of our minds as much as we can and just enjoy our kitties.  The really good news which I just heard from DH is that Cindy and Swanie have made up  and they were last seen cuddled together on the bed.

Oh that's great news about the sisters!

And I love the plan!
Despite his rather feminine sounding name, Swanie is all boy.   Don't blame me for his name, he came that way from the shelter.
We often call him Dude, or Doodle.
