Hester had her check-up the other day, and the vet said, "She's looking really good for an old cat." I thought... What? Old?! She's only 7! The vet said they mostly see much younger cats and they actually don't see a whole lot of cats that age in there.
What's going on there? Do people stop taking their cats to the vet after they're kittens, or is the mortality rate really that high? Are that many people dumping their cats when they grow up? Maybe a combination of those factors? Pretty depressing. I look at Hester and I think there's a lot of life left ahead of her. She's far from old!
