I started with the chicken

I go into the kitchen and say “Are you hungry?

Jennie and Mazy say “Yes!”
..

Queen Eva says “Let's see what you're offering first”

So I get the fixings out: the regular canned food for Mazy and Jennie (they eat different foods, Mazy's food has a blue lid, Jennie's has a red lid), pumpkin for Jennie, Stella&Chewy's freeze dried raw for Queen Eva and one ounce of Rad Cat raw chicken to be divided amongst the three meals:

Mazy and Jennie go to their Meal Spots
..

Queen Eva says she will reserve judgment until she sees what is being offered

Mazy's canned food normally, Mazy's food with Rad Cat raw chicken on the side
..

What Mazy does with it (tries to pick out the canned):

I don't like it Mommie

Queen Eva's freeze dried raw (re-hydrated) normally and with Rad Cat raw chicken on top
..

Queen Eva approved , ate the Rad Cat raw topping and a portion of the S&C.

then came back for the rest in a few minutes, as is her habit:

PS After Mazy refused to eat her food with the raw blob on the side, I gave her a clean dish of "uncontaminated" food. I won't let Mazy go without a meal, she gets really sick.

I have ordered the Forti Flora. :lol3:

Tonight we will try the turkey.

All three cats are taking Proviable DC.

I love all of the pictures of play by play action!

The rad cat looks pretty good! I can't wait to get mine in the mail this week. I gave Naku some raw lastnight, on top of a towel (instead of regular place mat, since he likes to carry it off of the place mat) and he wasn't sure what to do with the towel, so he did what Mazy did and was trying to pick up the raw with his paw.

Esme is my challenge but Forti Flora has done wonders for her. Now that I am giving them chunks of real meat, versus commercial, she is eating raw without a problem. She was similar to Mazy and wouldn't touch it. Eventually I was able to hide it in there with Forti Flora on top, but then she would find it and stop.

Good luck with Mazy!!

Thanks Marie! :)

The Rad Cat is a BEAUTIFUL!!!!! food.

I may try offering it on a separate plate, first, for Mazy cat since she won't even touch her own food if the raw is in there.

Lol. I just re read my post and it kind of sounds like I put the meat right onto the towel, but it was on a plate. :D

Have you tried giving her a piece of just plain raw meat? The first time Esme pretty much walked away, the second time which was the other day, she ate it and totally shocked me!

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
:lol3: I love the play-by-play pictures as well! And Mazy is just TOO CUTE. I'm sorry she didn't like it. :( I do hope the Fortiflora will help. :cross: But in the meantime, I like your idea of putting a little bit out for her on a separate dish next to the food she likes. :D

Thanks for the suggestion. That the very first step in raw feeding I took. I started slicing slivers off of whatever I was cooking and offering them to the three girls.

Jennie and Queen Eva will eat it every time, and are not picky about what it is. Mazy sez "that's not food." Mommie sez "not yet, anyway."

Love it!  That's the attitude!  Mazy sounds like Stinkpot.  And, BTW, he HATES Fortiflora too, so I cannot use it as a bribe with him.  But, he does like Radcat lamb, and only lamb.  He will not eat either of the other flavors of Radcat, nor will he eat any other brands of raw, nor will he eat any fresh meats.  He's just a little stinker (named appropriately, don't you think?)  Sometimes he'll eat Stella and Chewy's, but only if it's still in the dehydrated mode (which I hate to feed him, since I'm afraid he won't drink enough water afterwards)
  They ARE a challenge.

And sometimes he will even walk away from his lamb
.  But,  have discovered that if I can just get his juices flowing, then I can usually get him back over to his bowl.  So sometimes I have to give him a S & C or a Wholelife or Purebites treat or something to actually get him to be hungry, if that makes sense.  (that may be what happens with Queen Eva)

I'm anxious to read your progress with Mazy and the rest of the crew.  Good luck!

YES YES!!! Rad Cat IS beautiful meat!!!:clap::clap::clap: Just LOVE your play by play meal prep and serve photos and that video is great :lol3:!!! Fortiflora is still a last resort topper at my place. Perla seems to need it the most though. I can fake out Presley at times by "pretending" to dust his food when he is being picky :flail: A fake topper!!!!! Pipsqueak hates ALL and ANY topper. BUT he LOVE Rad Cat chicken and turkey. He hates the lamb though. He is the opposite of every body else. What he likes the others hate and visa versa. Will be excited to hear how things progress and how you will convince Mazy that raw IS food :lol3: It is such a challenge with some of them, but SO worth it - "sez, who???" :D  :vibes:

The details of the above action :)

What happened was:

I crushed a Wysong uretic kibble (long story why we have those in the house) over 1/6 ounce of Rad Cat chicken. I set down her canned food first and while she was eating that I set down a dish with the tiny bit of raw and dusting of crumbs. As you can see she tucked RIGHT IN. I barely had time to get the camera. I expected her to stick her nose in, then back away. But as you can see she LICKED THE BOWL. She never licks her dish clean!

Why I have the Wysong Uretic. My cats have always enjoyed this Game we call Chase the Kibble Game. Now that there is no kibble fed, they REALLY miss that game, especially the one who invented it here, and that is Mazy, the one who cannot have any kibble. I miss it too. So I got some of this Wysong Uretic, as a safe thing to give Mazy for Chase The Kibble Game. We only play the game once a week, and each cat ends up eating about 10 kibbles. So that's why I have Wysong Uretic. And I'm glad I did because one kibble turned to powder and put on the raw, and Mazy ate it up.

Tonight we tried the turkey. This afternoon I broke up the 8 oz chub into 1 ounce pieces. I let each cat sniff and then taste (if so inclined) a tiny speck of it. Jennie and Queen Eva went crazy, Mazy backed away.

However, when I actually served it, once dusted with two Wysong uretic kibbles crushed into crumbs, Mazy ate the entire 1/3 ounce. Unfortunately it was too much for her all at once, and it came right back up. SIGH. Tomorrow night I will give Mazy her 1/3 ounce in two half servings (1/6 ounce a serving)

Incidentally, since starting the RadCat, now Queen Eva will no longer eat the Stella&Chewy's.:lol3:

GAWD how I wish I could afford to feed all three of them this food full time. I dread having to make the grind myself, I HATE to cook. Okay I know I won't be cooking, but you know what I mean. I HATE to make food.

That looks really interesting.  I must be a noob because in all my years of cat ownership I've never considered raw food as an ongoing died.  Actually when I think about it it's odd that cats don't eat raw food considering they are animals and don't have much means of breaking out a stove and cooking their kills in a skillet.  Funny how far from nature we've come.

Tonight's update: Mazy cat ate her 1/6 of turkey with every sign of enjoyment (still dusting it, but with only half a kibble smashed into crumbs) and kept it down. A half hour later she had .75 ounces of canned food, I'll give her the rest of her raw turkey later.

I heard the Rad Cat Lamb is being discontinued, and I haven't even tried that yet. I really wanted the lamb, for a different protein for her :(
