Cats eating less wet than dry?

I have 11 cats. I have recently seen the error of my ways and have started switching them to an all wet diet. I've noticed that the amount of food they eat has reduced dramatically. They used to eat a large sour cream container of dry food every day, sometimes more. I put wet out in the morning and evening. Now they barley eat two large cans of wet a day and a tiny amount of dry ( so they quit coming up to and meowing at me.)
   Is this normal?

I have 21 cats and recently switched to all canned food :D. After a transition period (during which I didn't know how much they'd eat that day!), my cats settled on eating about 5-6 ounces each (averaged). So 2 large cans--I assume you mean the 13.2-ounce cans--isn't enough for 11 cats. That would only be about 2 1/2 ounces each. But it would depend how much dry they get. How much is a tiny bit?

What brands are you using (dry and canned)? How many meals per day?

I've been putting out about 1/2 cup of purina one dry. I put out canned as a free feed. When they finish one can, I put out more. Buy they don't finish the second can. I feed them friskies and special kitty wet. (i know not the best, but i live in a small town and there isn't many options)

I feed mine Friskies, too. And the occasional can of Special Kitty Super Supper because they like it :tongue2:. But www.doggiefood.com is a good thing for getting other brands, and has the cheapest prices for Friskies I've found, so you're not only stuck with what's available in a small-town Wal-Mart.

Anyway, that really isn't enough calories. Maybe as they get used to eating more canned (which makes them feel more full because of all the water), they'll feel the need for more calories and eat more :dk:. They really should be eating about 4-5 cans a day. Have you tried putting 2 cans out at the same time? Maybe they don't like to eat the last bites on the plate or something.

Are they 100% indoor or do they go outside?
