That's better news than you thought going in.

For good news, and that he comes through the rest of surgery well, and gets on the road to recovery.

oh my gosh! I wish they wouldn't eat stuff they shouldn't. That poor baby! Oh I hope he'll make it through. His liver may just be inflamed from the beginnings of HL like she said but maybe they caught this just in the nick of time!

Excellent! It could be HL, per my vet, the liver does look abnormal, very round, smooth and enlarged.
I am so glad you went ahead with the tube..... no more anesthesia for the little one, and yes for him to get all the nutrition he will need so much to get better!
Tons, tons of vibes going your way :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

That is so good they were able to push it back into the stomach!  I had a similar situation with one of my dogs.  My female german shepherd ate a piece of a toy last fall and unfortunately they had to remove about a foot of her intestine as the toy lodged too far down for them to do anything else.  It was traumatic but she is just fine now.  She went back to eating normally right after the surgery - I bet your kitty will too.  Sending vibes that Cage recovers quickly!

Just adding my :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: for your baby boy. :heart2: With a dad like you, he's got lots of reasons to fight! Our kitties being very ill is so very difficult on us. We KNOW how hard it is to think the best, but we're here doing that for you right now. :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs:

:vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: for ALL of you!

Oh thank goodness they found the cause and removed the object! It's easy to say this now, but I was wondering about an obstruction from the sounds of everything, just didn't get back here and post it when I thought of it. It reminded me of how my boy, Abby, acted when he ingested a plastic door-stop when he was younger. Oy. Note to self: post when I think of something instead of spacing it off!
Sending continued prayers and healing vibes, and a ton of cyber (((hugs))) your way.

Good news, I think.  They removed the cause of the problem.  Now you can all focus on getting better!

Healing thoughts continuing Cage!

Very glad to hear that they did another ultrasound and were able to find and remove the object
. I know what you mean about being at your financial limit. I am very hopeful that it will be all good from here on in. As you know cats can be remarkably resilient and I will pray that your boy bounces back quickly!! And don't beat yourself up about not doing anything earlier, you know from experience I'm sure, that cat are really good at hiding stuff. They will sit next to you and purr even when they feel awful. You have gone the extra mile for your boy. It is wonderful what you have done, you are the best parent for him!

Vet called again and said that he is out of surgery and in his kennel.  He's still asleep but she said that he did the best that they could have hoped for.  His BP and breathing were normal throughout the procedure.  They are monitoring him for bleeding from the biopsy.  She also reran his bloodwork and found the liver enzymes have declined a bit but his blood sugar is still very high so she is concerned he will become diabetic.

We will go visit him tomorrow to see how he's doing

Great update! Now let's recover quickly and get all better for dad, Cage :rub:
Dad, don't think about the diabetes right now... even if it happens, with a good diet in a lot of cases it can be managed with diet only :cross: that it won't come to that :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

Yeah, its pretty much the least of my concerns at this point.  I just called them for an update, he's awake but completely out of it from the drugs.  I'll take it.  Gonna go see him tomorrow

It seems your baby boy is receiving EXCELLENT care, and just adding my continuing vibes that now he's had the surgery (and great news he did so well during the procedure! ) it's just a matter of treatment and all downhill from here. :heart2: It's so very hard to see our babies recovering from surgery, but I know he'll appreciate the visit! :rub:

His blood sugar is high because his pancreas is still so inflamed and his liver was too. It'll come down. This is good news! He's doing so well considering! I'm so hopeful for him.

Got my morning update, he's doing "well."  He's very slow right now but that's normal considering everything.  They are retesting his blood again and will call me in a while with the results.  They gave him his first food through his tube in 6 days and there has been no vomiting since yesterday morning.  I'll update after I see him tonight.
