The only girl is the white one with orange splotches, the rest are little boys! Are there any names for their colors? One orange tabby, and what else? What is the moms color?

So, she hasn't left the box yet, is that normal? I offered her food and water just now and she ate some food but refused the water. She is such a good mommy! Very attentive to her babies.

Wow, that is one very pretty maine coon momma and some adorable babies.  Yes, she will stay in the box almost all day, keep food/water close and litter box not too far (they don't like it right next to the nest though).

Hmm, Maine coon?

I have her food and water right near the box, but she absolutely refuses to leave! Ah well, she'll come out eventually I guess.

Happykitty, I guess mine went first eh?
. How is yours doing?

Still something in there kicking all day, I hope it comes soon... I keep waking up at night and losing sleep because I worry I'll miss it.

Ugh! I did that too! How many do you think she has?

Last night, I thought for sure that she was going to have them as she was in her box (which she never was) and I thought I saw one contraction. So, I sat there and watched and nothing happened. This morning I ate breakfast, went and held her and not 5 minutes later she was dripping on me!

I hope you don't have long to wait!

Is this normal behaviour ? I have checked on Bijou and the kittens a few times and I noticed that she is laying just right outside the box instead of in it. The kittens are all curled up together sleeping, but when one cries she goes back in and lays with them. What if they get cold, will they squeek to alert her or what?

My first foster mom, Norma, was the same way. The first night after she had her babies I went in and checked on her and she was outside of the box. I was really worried but as soon as they squeaked she went back in and would nurse them. She was like this throughout their whole "kittenhood..." she'd go in and take care of them and feed them when they squeaked but a lot time she was out of the box.

Do you have a scale so you can weigh them and make sure they're gaining? That's going to be the only way that you know that she's feeding them enough.

Yes, I weighed them. The 3 males are 125 g and the female is just over 100g.

It's making me a tad nervous. When I check on them, and pick the kittens up ( in the box) and they squeak, she runs in and lays with them, so I would hope that when they squeak on their own that she would do the same.

I checked on her recently and she was feeding her kittens. Came back about 20 mins later and she was still in there. I think she will do just fine with her babies.
